I found the reason why this error happened. I checked Packages one by one and none of them are TS4 CC. It's because some sim files in SavedSims caused this error, so weird

- Update -
I just found
MacOS user all Sim flies that saved in 64 bit TS3 will caused error, and now I have to save them again with my 32 bit Windows version TS3

The error says it's a version mismatch so that really doesn't make sense unless the Mac version saves packages differently. Could you upload one that gives you the error?

Hi! Thank you so much for creating such amazing tool for the sims3. When loading some of my saved sims, I often came across this error. It says that the parameter name is length. Do you know what may cause this issue？Screenshot is under the code.

Thanks! It is indeed a different version, why I have no idea since on PC I've never seen this version and the contents of the sim package seems to be the same. I should be able to get around it by programmatically changing the version before opening the package.

Hi! After some testings, I think I might find what caused the error I mentioned. It maybe because the sims I tried to export contained some mod that were originally sims3package files which I unistalled and changed to the same package files some days ago.(before changing their forms, I loaded and exported some sims using these mod in sims3package files) I am not sure whether it is the source of the error. But as I removed these accessories, thoses sims then could be exported successfully.

Remembered the log in to my old modthesims account & just wanted to say thank you- I tried out Agnes Crumplebottom and only thing I noticed was the hair seems a bit light and the eyes are the wrong color but otherwise spot on!

After like a year and a half(ish), I am back here. I'm glad to see this updated! This is working so much better than when it started out! I just noticed that the only problem I seem to be having is with makeup not showing up the correct color like this example here. Not many other people seem to be having this problem so I'm wondering if it might have something to do with using NRAAS to layer makeup?

Quite likely. SimRipper is made to support EA standard-compliant mods and CC so with mods like this it may or may not work correctly. If you upload your save game and Sim Troubleshooting info I can take a look and see if it's correctable.

So I don't have a saved game I can upload because I noticed that trying to finding sims via the "saved game" feature doesn't never works for me. The app doesn't crash but 9 times out of 10 there are just no sims shown for me to select? I got sims to show up there once but none of them sims I had made, only a couple of NPCs. Would the .simfile or .package and troubleshooting info work instead?

UPDATE: I'm attaching the Sim Trouble Shooting Info here first but it gave me a Unhandled Exception Error when I tried to use the app's save feature so let me know if something is wrong with it.

Yes, the saved sim file / package is fine instead, I should have said so when I asked.

Edit: Actually I'd also like to see at least one save game that doesn't work for you since that shouldn't happen. And a screenshot of what your sim looks like in CAS or the game might be helpful. Thanks!

Thanks! I was able to list the sims in your savegame and preview your sim with no problems (other than missing CC so all I got was a head), so I don't know what that means. With the troubleshooting info installed I got an error so I don't know what that means yet either. In the saved sim data I do see multiple entries for blush and other categories, so I'll have to figure out why SimRipper isn't including or maybe layering them correctly.

Ah, yeah, I should've checked the savefile before sending. I see that looking at the savefile I sent you, it's one of the ones that lists random NPCs but not the sims in any households that I have in the world. I'll attach a different one that shows no sims at all so you can see if anything comes up on that one for you.

Thanks. 'The problem is that this save game has no ExportDB package. SimRipper needs both the SIMEs in TravelDB and the SIMOs in ExportDB in order to read the sim information. I'm sure the full info is there in some other resource but I don't know how to read those other resources, and I also don't know why some games have an ExportDB and others don't, but I suspect it's generated when you have a sim travel to another world.

The only reliable way to rip a custom sim is to save it to the saved sims, sadly.

As long as the Saved Sims folder recognizes my sims, I am happy ????Hopefully whatever else is going on is fixable as well.

I've been getting crashes with one sim that I've narrowed down to his skin color - with the slider all the way to the right as I originally had it, I get this exception:
