This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Totally freezing up when loading any lot?
I have the 4gb patch and graphic rules maker installed. But when I launch The Sims 2 and try going into a lot, it freezes completely. I have no CC/Mods installed either. Also just let me know if my config-log is needed, I will happily paste it in the replies section! :D

A config log might be useful. Have you tried loading the game in a fresh Sims 2 folder? You can go to Documents\EA Games\ and rename The Sims 2 folder or move it to your desktop, and then launch the game.

Out of curiousity, is this a fresh installation and, if it is, did you use the disks or another source to install the game?

It is a fresh install besides the 4gb patch and graphic rules maker also I have the game via origin, i will try your advice!

EDIT: I just realized, it says the incorrect gpu in the log! I actually have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

The log reports GeForce 7800 GTX which means you're using d3d9.dll, right? Does the game run without it, as that is usually the last resort?

Also, Disable Texture Memory Estimate Adjustment and Enable Driver's Memory Manager aren't enabled in Graphics Rules Maker; you should probably enable them, as well as increase texture memory if you can.

Yes correct I am using that, and before I installed dxvk my game would crash on launch with a blank error pop-up.

Try taking it out (and extra files that it probably generated) and enable settings in Graphics Rules Maker that I mentioned. Since you have RTX 2060, you can set texture memory to 4096 MB. Also, because it's from Origin, disable "Origin In Game" overlay because that can also crash the game.

If the game absolutely won't work without dxvk, you can place it back in there, but you will need to create a config file for texture memory. Also, where did you download it from?

Okay I will try taking it out and enabling those graphics rules maker settings i will reply with the status when done! And I downloaded dxvk from GitHub from the person that goes by doitsujin

ok so it works now BUT there is a black rectangle under the sims
