What do you mean by "computer controlled"?

I think she means a playable sim when you're not playing their household.

@Essa,

@ihatemandatoryregister is right. "Uncontrolled" or "computer controlled" usually means exactly that: a sim who is currently not under your control, because they are not a member of the family/household that you are currently playing.

Ah, some of my sims look so sweet and stupid in their warlock outfits. Some of them really like chatting up witches at community lots and I sit with a family Sim forming a friendship with the evil witch right now (sigh). They normally don't get to stay witches for too long (my first witch remained a witch for quite some time, but cured me of playing them).

have not yet gotten Apartment Life.

the spells of each witch alignment are listed at several places. Snooty Sims was one place. the wiki "connected" to Sims Resource is another place; and I think the wiki "connected" to this site is another.

I would welcome suggestions for lifestyle for witches. In the past, I have always succumbed to the temptation to send the new witch off to the Palace of Neverending Light, to spend several days on triple speed, learning witchcraft up to level 9, and then creating the Throne of Light. That seems to me to be the only purpose of becoming a witch: to get the chair that frees a sim from all worldly cares. The sim sitting on the Throne of Light, next to a bookcase, has no need to eat or sleep or wash or socialise - he just piles up the knowledge. In the past, that has spelled the end of life for that sim, since he becomes too boring to play.

You all know George McArthy - as a teenager he stood behind the counter in the bookshop, with his hair flopping beguilingly over one eye. He arrived at university so formidably skilled that he never needed to study; he just swanned around, making friends. After graduation he quickly became The Law, and then Captain Hero, and very rich. He married, had a boy and a girl, and has just got them both into private school. Then he rolled a wish to become a witch. By then he had so few wishes that I had to accede to that one. Off to the Palace he flew, and brewed up his chair. Now he is sitting in it, next to the Education bookcase (his wife won that), reading up on Body level 10. In an hour or so, he will have maxed out seven skills. What more can life offer him? What challenges remain for a virtuous warlock?

He goes around trying to fix what's wrong with the world. Now that he knows so much, that'll be a snap, right? Everyone will be happy to listen to his superior wisdom, right? Yeah, right...

So, play the rest of the neighborhood normally, noting anything that might seem to George to be a fixable problem that he could address. Could be individual, could be systemic, whatever. When you play him, pick something for him to work on - but make sure that it's something that will not be as easy as he and his spells and book-larning think it should be. Like (to pick a couple of examples using premades, probably not directly applicable to your neighborhood), trying to reconcile the Capps and Montys starting with Consort and Patrizio, who have no desire to be reconciled. Adopting the Newsons and not player-controlling them - they must be governed by influence and spells.Use his influence as an ex-lawyer and ex-hero to try to institute reforms in the political, social, or economic systems that prevail.

Then, when playing the other households, decide which ones are likely to thwart his efforts, and thwart away. Pay attention to where he goes and what he does when other people are visiting community lots or he does a fly-by, and take your cue from that.

Or you can let him putter along in the background, ignoring him, while his children rebel from his perfection and make an interesting mess.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

Play him as almost a demi-god like character... one of the few Sims who I have yet to get bored of when I actually play the game is a witch/vampire who I've just gradually been building up- skills, badges, abilities, hidden skills, etc., while still playing to her needs and spur-of-the-moment wants. At some point, having a Sim who's really EARNED their godlike status becomes interesting again!

I'll give that a go. First things for a godlike sim: he can wear the full witch kit when outdoors, but a dazzling white suit indoors. Perhaps I can restore the good witch shimmer? He already lives in a castle; perhaps he can decorate it with magical lights. One of the turrets can be his magic room, doorless, only accessible by magivestigium. He must visit a community lot every day and cast at least one good spell. He must make friends with almost everyone - he already has twenty-eight friends, so that will not be difficult. Write books about witchcraft, fill the castle with snapdragons, catch all the fish ... Um ... any other ideas?

All the bookcase skills, talent badges, hidden skills, vacation memories, OFB perks, FT hobby memberships and plaques, etc. My demigod Sim, being a vampire, and coming from the main family of evil magicians I have, ended up being a more evil (or if not evil, at least Rand-ly self-interested) supernatural force... so that ends up leaving her storyline open more to things like "50 first dates" or "20 simultaneous lovers" since she's got enough perks to make those easier than for anyone else, and still in her "direction." You wouldn't want exactly the same approach with a GOOD demigod, but it may give you at least a few ideas...

With the no reagents mod, they really become the op force. (Like how Zarathrusta compared - they're pretty much semi-gods). Time runs too fast for you? Just use tempus interruptus spell to freeze it. Wanna expel unwanted guest from your lot? Expello Simae. Wanna have a temporarel cat, but cannot afford for one and/or their essentials? Summon a spectrial cat. Sim is about to death? No worries - just chant expello mortis and grim reaper will be gone without harvesting your loved one's soul.

Four months have passed, and Pleasantview has been reset. There has been an invasion of the elves featured in 'Lord of the Rings', and Galadriel is the witch of the wood. She reached the top of the education career so long ago, she barely remembers it. She has a gold badge for gardening, she talks to the trees, and there is a wishing well in her garden. She lives with Celeborn the Wise, another sim with elf ears, and he is working on his second LTW, though he has never spun a wish to learn witchcraft. As a knowledge sim, he spent long enough at the telescope to have a green-skinned son, Haldir, a remarkable scholar with elf ears. Galadriel has a daughter, Celebrian, now at college and nursing three lightning bolts for Elrond. She will become the mother of his sons, Elrohir and Elladan. Galadriel wastes no time in sleeping; any time her motives drop, she retires to her throne next to the education bookcase, and works on her next LTW - maxing seven skills. In my game, only elves can drink the Elixir of Life; they will never grow old. Galadriel has yet to visit other lands, and improve them with a wave of her wand. I enjoy playing this sim.

I love witches. Mine are generally hereditary. (I roll for inheritance.) They generally run magic shops.

I've had one household which only stayed sane because one adult was a werewolf, and the other a plantwitch - they once had four toddlers simultaneously. (I play with aging mods; toddlers are in that stage for 10 days. In this case, it wasn't quads, but two sets of twins, one right after the other.) Both were pretty much always up and available, neither had regular careers, and the witch cast a lot of essential spells (the one that I can't spell - bemoodus simae? - and the one for a spectral servant, in particular).
