There are so many. You can google Sims 3 CC and there will be some sites you can check for CC every day or review their archives.
Everyone likes "different" content, and the definition of your good and my good could differ. Some people like vampire/goth type sims and supernatural features. I don't and tend to avoid websites that are not realistic.

Here are few websites that are very popular apart from Mod the Sims and Sims Resource:
http://digitalperversion.net/garden...ows/index.php#8 (make sure your items are for the game version you have).
http://www.all-about-style.com/sims3.html
http://aroundthesims3.com/

Just remember sometimes people don't say what you need to run their custom content. This could cause issues in your game. Download sensibly!

I can't play without objects from Sandy:
http://aroundthesims3.com/
She is also very supportive and nice, and offer all the help and advice you need for her objects to work.

http://www.thesimsk.com/ also has a lot of very nice objects, not the least a whole basilica buildset

There's also a lot of 'simblrs' - sims-themed tumblrs- that have custom content on there. To get started, maybe try Sunny CC Finds or Lana CC Finds.

If you're annoyed by TSR's adblock-hate, here's a quick guide for avoiding their long wait times: How to Download TSR Files Instantly with Adblock

Nah I mean like I use adblock but there's still some annoying ads, I don't mind waiting a minute :P

Also I know this is a dumb question but where is all the stuff on Aroundthesims? I can only see one page of clothing and it's accessory turtlenecks.

Around the Sims takes some digging through but if you keep looking there are many wonderful items.
Try this link as well:

For older content, you can try the Booty: http://svt.paysites.mustbedestroyed.org:8080/booty/ts3/
On there you can find content that used to be pay, and which you may not find elsewhere anymore (websites were taken down).
Other custom content dumps from sites that don't exist anymore:
Luna Sims
Lilisims/Sosliliom
Awesims
Unreleased things by Shokoninio (he said he's not creating for TS3 anymore)

Tumblr - more downloads! ◾ CC reuploads / creator backupsTS3 CAS Conversion Catalog - for basegame, EP, SP, and Store clothing!

CC websites
(for you who are still interested in finding some websites)!
Obviously, TSR and Mod the sims are most people's first choices (as are my first choices for CC as well :P), but there are a few other websites that have some really good custom content. I'll link these down below:
-
BEO CREATIONS: fabulous clothes if you're looking for wedding dresses or high-quality dresses: http://beocreations.com/index.php#
ANUBIS UNDER THE SUN: faaaabulous array of EVERYTHING, you just gotta dig around on her site for what you're looking for: http://www.anubis360.blogspot.com.au/
THE SIM SUPPLY: if you're looking for a house, mansion or even just a revamped starter home you should go here: they make AMAZING builds (amazingly amazing): https://thesimsupply.com/
LEMON LEAF: makeup, skin tones, all really high-quality: http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_63e832e00100k6eu.html
WYSIDIA'S TUMBLR: collection of a perfect array of all your CC needs, she has heaps! : http://wysidia.tumblr.com/
SIM CREDIBLE: a lot of really cute furniture and rooms: http://sims3.simcredibledesigns.com/
WUNDERSIMS: she has a great assortment of heaps of stuff: http://wundersims.tumblr.com/downloads
DEGGDEGG: again, another great blog with some downloadable worthy things: http://deggdegg.tumblr.com/downloads

Ohh nice, had no idea about these three, thanks

Gonna add some more I thought of:
Kent Converts - if you ever want EA clothes converted to other ages (especially kids and teens, who don't get as much love).
Robokitty - lots of ethnic (?) content, the hairs are gorgeous.
Pixicat - for a wide variety of shoes.
Sentate - really classy business casual stuff.

Tumblr - more downloads! ◾ CC reuploads / creator backupsTS3 CAS Conversion Catalog - for basegame, EP, SP, and Store clothing!

I would HIGHLY recommend you use the sims3 pack Clean Installer and Delphy's dashboard organizer if you go on a spree. You also want to avoid the exchange and TSR for downloadable SIMS. Those two sites have a lot of sims with corrupt content. Using the Clean Installer will tell you if your sims 3 packs have content which will frustrate you. Delphy's organizer will tell you if package files conflict, or if you accidentally have sims 2 files. My game is clean now, it runs well, and I am super careful about adding new content.

Oh, thank you! I shall.

EDIT: Wait a second, this is sims 2, is it not, this Clean Installer? Is there a sims 3 version?
