It's very simple, really.
Just hover with your mouse over the icon of the basegame. That's a green square icon with a plumbob and also the only square one out there. It's at the very bottom of the launcher. If you hover with your mouse over it, then it will say The Sims 3 and the versionnumber. For example: i have myself patch 1.36 installed, so the launcher is saying; The Sims 3 1.36.45.017002.
The patch version of the basegame is only what matters for nraas career mod and actually for all of twallan's ones. The rest of the numbers isn't important.

I think you're looking at one of your EP's instead of the "base game" which so far is up to 1.36.45.017001. One of my Stuff Packs however is up to 3.13.1.017031. Open your launcher and hover over the "Base Game" icon. If you've updated recently it will say 1.36.45.017001.

Yes I have it installed but I still can't get the career and my game is up to date so I don't know what's wrong.

Try refreshing your caches if you haven't already. Also can you check if you have any script errors for me please? Another thing, try a different career and let me know if that one works, then we can narrow down the cause.
