Wouldn't mind trying. And now I'm a little better at the slot positioning, so perhaps it'll be easier. When I did my last try, I only knew more or less how to adjust slot positions.

That would be great if you could try! If you could raise the height of the danglemonster then it might work. Honeywell already made it placeable anywhere. http://modthesims.info/d/457510
Welp, I'm still building a university town. Unfortunately, my last one got bugged, causing frequent crashes, so I pulled what I wanted and started a new 'hood.
After building a couple of fraternity houses, I got an idea: repurpose an old building into a dorm. And I had just the candidate--a high school I built in my main town (based off of the Sim City 4 high school). It was large and empty--perfect for a restructuring. Repaint the outside, remove "GHS" from the sign spot at the top, and get to work. This hall is still a work in progress, but I'm willing to share what I have thus far.
At ISU, I noticed that dorm halls have signs on the outside of the buildings denoting each floor as a different "house." These signs are creatively designed (I'm assuming by students) and sometimes theme with the house's name. I found this to be a cool idea, so custom wall textures were made here to commemorate the different houses being named for notable alumni and donators. I'm rather proud of second floor's Berger & Frye houses. I came up with a backstory that this floor has always shared a level of camaraderie, and even hold "Berger & Frye" nights as a student get together.
Only occasionally do they have burgers and fries, unfortunately--much to the dismay of some of the residents. Hey, you're gonna gain the 15 pounds anyway.
The showers in MacIntosh House. All of the showers, left and right wing, are identical, orientation flips notwithstanding. I for some reason like building dorm showers. I have a standard style, too. Here, I ape my typical style with some variations and a few fun building tricks to make the place look used (IE, the curtains being askew). Note the school's lockers being repurposed in places. Why not in the showers to hold stuff while students shower? Note the two "bath" stalls for those that wish to take baths instead, or for the disabled to use a little more handily. Yes, the shower stalls have windows, but they're slatted to preserve privacy. They're more for venting if the student using the shower wants it. This is an old building. Ventilation can be a challenge. Late at night, you may hear running water, spot steam, and maybe even hear awful off-key singing.
A standard two-person dorm unit. Unfortunately, many of the dorm rooms I build have a similar style to this, which itself is a similar style to a dorm I had during my first stint in college. A private sink, plenty of storage, and an adjustable radiator for cold days--and of course, standard dorm furniture kit. Each unit is carpeted in the living space proper to save residents some money and make these rooms just a little bit more comfortable. Plus, linoleum floors get cold on the feet in winter. Do you like that? I don't. They're beige, but don't look a gift horse in the mouth, how about?
Laundry facilities. Lots of washers and dryers for the many residents of Sycamore hall. All EagleCard operated (the security alarms on the end). Also available are recycling bins for the students that care about that stuff, bulletin wall, and laundry soap dispenser.
No Tide Pods for obvious reasons. Couple of bad eggs ruined that.
The relatively small dining hall (without a cool name unfortunately). Also note the stairwells and elevators to the other floors. I tried to mimic hot and cold wells in the countertops by hiding a stovetop or two within. This borrowed a small bit of inspiration from the dining hall at ISU where I'm employed as a cook. Not alot, though--this is mostly me shoehorning in a dining hall in a relatively small footprint. I had to bump out the right wing wall to add more space. Sue me; I deviated.
The hall office and student lounge. Rather uninspired, but hey. It can't all be awesome. Old dorm, that's my explanation. Suck on it.
The footprint of the building. The surrounding lots are going to be a parking lot, greenspace, a service access for the kitchens, and a bus stop hub to get students to class on time. Of course, Sycamore is closer to campus proper, so biking or walking are viable options. But who in the hell does that when BUSES are an option?
Unless you're late to class. Sucks to be you, late person. Set an alarm next time?
I recently finished what I call my "learning experiment" in simple creations, in my case a Neighborhood, with the restriction of mini lots of 1 by X size, it's not called Onebyex for nothing :P
I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc
I am, but I've never seen baby accessories there. Looks like I'll have to look again. How do you put them on the baby? Does change appearance work on babies?
Click the "TS2 Baby stuff" link in my signature. Should answer your questions (plus take you to nearly all the baby stuff - there are a few pacifiers in the regular "Accessory and makeup" category, too). You can also click the "Baby stuff" link in the "Raven's Sims 2 Downloads" section on the site.
Thanks for linking, I've never seen these. And thank you for recolouring, there's always a shortage of those for custom body shapes.
I haven't submitted them here because I don't know if they will pass the guidelines--things are a lot tougher here to get approved than before-- Mod the Sims has high standards.
You guys let me know if I should try.
Thank you.
