Hi Cmar,
I'm having this issue with the sim that I'm trying to open
Do you have any suggestions on how I may fix that with that sim? Is it CC or something else?

It's almost certainly CC. If you can figure out which package it is and upload it here, that would be helpful.

That’s a tough call :’D
I’ll certainly try, but do you know if I should pay attention to custom sliders as well? I think I used quite some of them… And custom recolors?

I don't think so. The error message shows the problem occurring when it tries to read a pattern, so it's almost certainly clothing, hair, accessories, a pet coat pattern - a CAS item. The pattern may be for something metallic judging by the name, so start with jewelry, glasses, anything with a metallic appearance.

Popping in to see if this project is still going or not. It seems to not be completely dead but no updates in about a year now 👀

Hello there ! I would like to know if the update with the animal skins is still planned (I'd love to export my horses !)
Is there a place (Discord, Reddit or other) where I can be notified when the next update is released ? Or should I go back here regurlaly to see if the project is still going ?
Thank you

I have an issue with horses. It won't load and I just get an error message, with or without mods.
It worked in ripper 0.5 version but then the texture is in grayscale?

Hi! New to using TS3 SimRipper. I've noticed that, with or without the "Process and save normal/emission maps" option checked, no matter what save option I select, normal maps don't appear to export. Is this a bug?

Hello!
I currently have version 0_6_0 downloaded, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I have tried the following:
- Opening a folder containing my saved sim with CC (.sim file); Error returned: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
- Opening a folder containing a few of my saved sims (.sim files) without CC, and tried various non-CC saved sims; Error returned: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
- Opening an active save folder (which for some reason did not even show my sim in the options list), and trying to open any of the listed Sim names; Error returned: Not a valid mesh!
I'm not sure why this is happening but any help would be appreciated!

For anyone else seeing "Can't find game and/or user files.", I found I had to create a mods folder, since I didn't have any yet the error kept appearing. Would be nice if the error message were more specific about what it could not find.
Also, with Sims 3 v1.6.2 (Steam) even the townies appear to be missing some clothing textures. Instead they have cloth geometry yet with their skin texture stretched over them.
Error log reads:
That said, much thanks for this tool!
EDIT: Saving sim troubleshooting info ran into this error:
EDIT2: Was able to export a saved sim with textures intact, yet now the hair appears to have some trouble with normals when using DAE format:

Hi Cmar! I'm having a bit of trouble with ts3sim ripper! I try to upload my sim and it fails all of my saved sims do this! For one sim in particular I look at the errors part and it states this "

So when I go into S3PE I also don't have those files from the exported sim turned package file. Very confused

To anyone seeing this comment, and hasn't heard the news CmarNYC sadly passed away in October 2023 after a battle with cancer. This thread or program will likely never be updated again unless someone takes over the project.
