This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Custom Instruments Hack Issue
ataveras Custom Instruments Hack causes my sims to not gain hobby enthusiasm from the guitar or bass(they don't gain enthusiasm from the custom banjo I got it for that requires it to work either). Even when it's the only thing in my downloads folder.

Sounds like that just wasn't enabled for those objects. Why don't you ask the creator for that feature if you want it?

Have you looked into this? I don't personally use it, but from what I can tell it seems to be an attempt to update it for FreeTime?
I might one day finish my Zanes Hollow project, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Until then, you can see what I'm up to on my Simblr!

The Custom Instruments Hack isn't outdated Numenor updated it for Mansion & Garden.
