I was looking for pictures of cabins and came across this website - https://cabinporn.com/ Now I'm hooked on cabins. I'm hopeless
Here is a park ranger station with gift shop. A diner and a cabin.

I know this isn't very interesting anymore but, oh well, it gives me something to do.
The fire station is not my creation, I just fixed it up to look like a watch tower type thing. (ignore the uncolored windows) https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...-cc/id/1137591/
The bowling alley is below the bar/nerdy arcade.
Forgot to mention the "gas & go" in previous posts is from MeaganJo. It's a terrific lot. https://www.thesims3.com/assetDetai...assetId=7975006

@KatyFernlily : I'm checking this thread regulary and I'm always happy to find a new update from your camper world Your builds are just so cute and look so realistic! My buildings usually look strange, big practical blocks containing all necessary stuff just shoveled on the walls with a autogenerated roof on the top That's why I really enjoy looking at the creativity of others and I'm always amazed to see what is possible in this game if you know what you do.

Please keep updating if you want. I will be here

This world is Nilxis' via the caw files that he's offered up for anyone to play around with. Huge Thank You, Nilxis! All I did was change some lot sizes to fit my tiny camper obsession. (I blame the virus, it's turned me into a compulsive, addicted to sims, insomniac). I also took out a bunch of bushes and ferns thinking it would keep the world running smooth. Changed a few spawners and fiddled with the routing. Thats it. I can't build in CaW as it won't save or even load for that matter. So these buildings are done in game. I have a crapton of cc that I use also. I'm willing to share the save file down the road for anyone who is interested, as it's still pretty empty for now.

My next junk shop/consignment store. Has a little ice cream shop off the side. Includes inspiration pics.

I just love your creations! I am a crappy house builder so i am happy with all the talented creators . Arsil got a real working icecream stand for your shop if you would like that. I would download your word in a heart beat !

I appreciate your kind words! Thank you very much! It encourages me to continue on with this little world and I hope it inspires you all to keep playing and building.

I started out as a horrible builder. My houses were basically squares with a bathroom, bedroom and necessary things to give a sim a start. I never even attempted roofs at first either. But with time and the inspiration (and tutorials) of other creators I improved. I really enjoy trying to duplicate real life buildings. It's not always possible as one is limited with the game.

I use this ice cream display plus Arsil's mod. https://aroundthesims3.com/objects/...e_misc_01.shtml It's creators like these that keep me going with the sims. Sometimes it seems like almost anything is possible with this game when it comes to mods. If only there was a magical mod to make my game run better and still have all the really cool cc and mods installed. I can dream. :D

Been messing around in Hylewood some more. Decorated the backside of the previous building with a post office.

Not sure if I am 100% liking this next area but after decorating it, it's kind of growing on me. I named it "Til Death Do Us Part Wedding Chapel" (graveyard). There is a bridal shop and a bistro to hold a reception. It's in the basement but I tried to brighten it up. Also included the mausoleum rug. Deathfish in the pond with some lifefruits out back.

The "chapel" building is not my creation. It's MiniFriedhof lot from mammut @blackysimszoo (sorry I couldn't find the link but thank you mammut!).
Also the inspiration pic. Have a wonderful day!

I love the little post office! And I think you tackled a difficult subject here. The whole camping theme doesn't match very well with a church (though camping in churches is apparently a thing: google "champing" ) and even worse with the graveyard. I think this is what gave you the "not 100%" feeling.

I think you've come to a nice solution, although the church feels a bit too solid for me (I think I can't find the right words for my diffuse thoughts). In my mind the wedding area of a camping site would be less "bad weather safe", like a pavillon in a park, more like a hippy nature wedding thing In my country there are alternate graveyards which are basically forests where you buy a tree instead of a grave and the ash is buried in the roots of that tree. Only a little plaque on the tree lists the name of the deceased. It's very peaceful.

That's just to give you my random thoughs, not to tell you to redo something! I really like the lot, but also have the feeling it just doesn't match the world 100%. Beautiful builds nevertheless

Hello Smyrrna!
Thanks for your input. I wasn't sure about this lot that I had sitting in my library. I was cheating and not coming up with something original (was wanting to save time from building). I was going to make some hippy type campers, eventually, for the two small lots behind this area. But I did want a building for a graveyard as I want as many commercial/rabbit hole places if I choose to play this as a home world. Which can be tucked into any place really.
I do like your idea about a pavillion/park as I have really no space for something like that. I'd also like to be able to add some of the outdoor equipment that sims can use for fun and my remaining lots are all very small and the objects just don't fit.
In my mind, I used the chapel idea as if sims would take a vacation wedding. lol...not sure if that's a thing. But anyway, thanks again for your ideas. It gives me something to think about!

Hello Everyone!
I found some routing issues around the public pool so went back into Create a World Tool Beta (grrr). I moved the lot over a square and added a sidewalk next to it. Had to change a bit of the world decor as my sim kept getting stuck in this one area. Also tweaked the "romantic spot" cause I found some lot tears. I added a few squares to a couple of the lots that aren't built yet so hopefully there will be a tad more room around the buildings. It's a pretty tight fit tho, but that's ok. I think it will still work alright.

I also figured out how to add Nilxis lighting for Hylewood so added that too. Not sure if it's made a huge difference but I really like the way the light is hitting these buildings. I finished the consignment store. It has a bit of everything. I really like how it turned out (I think the custom lighting might have helped with the purple/hazy glow I was getting on some objects?)

I am totally interesting in this world and love seeing your builds. I wish someone could figure out a way to make custom worlds vacation ones. This would be ideal for that. But until possible if ever folks will need to move there for a while.

Your tiny builds look amazing! So fitting for that world!

@Daisylee, but you can, with the help of NRAAS Traveler. This allows you to chose your travel destination from all installed worlds. Only very few worlds won't be of use for that, i.e. those that have neither basecamp nor any free residential lot where your simmies could stay. Not sure if a resort is considered a home lot.

The problem is that all other tourists arrive around 10 am and then leave at about 4 pm in custom worlds so there is nobody there overnight except my sim and the NPCs. I was told when I posted about this before that the game is programmed that way and nobody had a solution. I made custom small worlds I wanted to use as vacation world and everyone other than those mentioned left every day. I tried with a resort. I tried with a base camp. I posted a few photos of them that were funny as there was a boat parade of them all leaving.

If you know of a way to avoid this in a custom world, so other tourists come and stay I would really, really appreciate knowing how this can be done.

https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=636941

I really wanted to make in effect resort destinations to visit and not have to make worlds with houses and Sims to fill it.Do not want to hijack this thread though.

Hi Daisylee,
According to this post https://modthesims.info/t/604216 Igazor says his tourists stay for days using Register mod. I also see this mod https://modthesims.info/d/584019/mo...-in-resort.html where sims are staying overnight.

I wish I knew the exact answer to your dilemma but I really have no experience with resort/base camps, etc. Good luck!

Your builds are so adorable and I'm really excited for you to share this! Any chance Sims would be able to live there, or is it intended only as a vacation world?

Thank you! Yes, I want to use it as a home world. I'm trying to have enough buildings (using rabbit hole rugs) for all careers, etc. Space is tight tho. Since space is limited I'm using basements and upper floors to create more places that sims can go.
I'm not sure what you need or what is required for it to be a vacation destination. I will have to look into that. I am hoping that we can use it as either.
