Default Converted/remade Sims 1 Megahood
When I was invited to this group, I wasn't really sure I had anything to add. Most of the posts I've seen focus on the interesting daily lives of their sims and/or a brilliantly designed neighbourhood. At the time of my invite, I had neither. I'm more of a lurker really, trawling the internet for CC. You know. My biggest obsession however, was TS1 remakes, such as the ones found here. I had fond memories playing the original game as a child, even if my brothers didn't let me play it most of the time. But I digress. It wasn't enough for my nostalgia-induced obsession. So I decided to remake everything. Every single detail.

Well, that didn't quite happen, but I got as close as I could without burning myself out. I present, in all it's flawed glory, my TS1 based megahood. Still unoccupied for now, but I'll share some of the layouts and lots, shall I?

Old Town & Downtown
I didn't make this one. Not really. Here is the Old Town & Downtown neighbourhood that I used. It was pretty close to the finished product when I got it, but there was some room for building, so I plonked down a few TS2 lots from the expansions that had any features I might want to use later, such as nightclubs, restaurants and some bowling alleys. I also put down a cemetery and a beach near Ridge Road. Here are some pictures:

The TS1 versions for comparison: Old Town, Downtown

You might notice a few differences to the Old Town posted on MTS (found here ). Downtown is integrated into Old Town terrain, Ridge Road actually leads into the tunnel like in the original game (using CC TBF), there's tons more neighbourhood decorations and there are no sims. I've put the Sims and their pets into a hidden shopping district (so my own sims can move into their rather nice houses instead) and written their bios, but haven't played them yet, and probably don't intend to. I find the large family sizes make them hard to play, and I really prefer to make my own. So they're basically demoted to big-name townies, unless I decide to play them.

Magic Town:
I didn't make this one either. I added a few neighbourhood decorations and lot descriptions and called it a day. I never played MM, and I don't play with supernatural stuff in the Sims that often, so I never really had any motivation to change stuff around. Magic Town by Voleste can be found here. I don't really to need to post any pictures because it's pretty much the same as the link shows.

Vacation Island
It's here where I actually start to be relevant at all. Aside from the terrain and some of the decorations (which can be found via that first link) I did most of this stuff myself. All nine Vacation Island lots were made by me, with the Sims 2 running on my desktop with the first game running on my laptop for reference. And by 'reference' I mean 'most of the items and structures are in the same place'. This is pretty much how Studio Town was done as well.
Here are some pictures:
Island Overview:

Palazzo Palms Hotel:

Sunset Beach:

Bear Essentials Lodge:

Wren's Fens National Park:

Alpine Preserve:

The original Vacation Island, for reference.
The lots are not completely accurate. Some lots are too big or small, or maybe they're missing objects that were never introduced to the Sims 2 (the archery range, for example). There are no beaches on the beach lots as the terrain did not allow for it. Yadda yadda artistic licence and all that jazz. Let me know if you want to see any more pictures. These were just a few I took the other day, they were a bit rushed. If there's anything you'd like to see, let me know.

Studio Town
Like Vacation Island, I mostly did this one myself. They were a lot harder to make, due to their extravagance. Still, I'm fairly happy with them.
More pictures here:

Overview:

KWLW Studios (with the roof missing for some reason, god dammit):

Meeker Studios:

Gast District (quite happy with how this one turned out, thanks to the lighting mod):

I'm aware the build mode tiles have shown up. The things you don't notice when you haven't played with Live mode for the past two months.

There were a few lots here I didn't make from scratch. Voleste did KWLW studios (though I made the operating room seen in the picture) and that theatre you see in the neighbourhood overview was done by one of the lot creators here on MTS. This one, I think. That theatre was one of the few 'decorative' lots I used to make it look like the original neighbourhood screen in Superstar. I did the rest of those myself, like this western set:

The original overview screen for Studio Town, in TS:Superstar.

Welp. I think that's all I have for now. As I said above, do feel free to request more pictures or links to CC (I used a lot of CC). It's no trouble. I'm sure you're all more interested in what my Sims might get up to in these towns. I'm not sure I have enough time to go down that rabbit hole today, but
for now, have a wonderful day/evening/whatever and peace out!!

Looks you did a lot of work on this. Looks nice.

I used to play The Sims Makin' Magic, but I have not played it for a very long time. I still have it though.

I am interested in what else you might have in the future.

It's really impressive that you made replica's of these TS1 hoods in TS2. I never had anything but the base game but your vacation island looks spot on!

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

OMG I love this so much! By any chance would you like to make some of those available for download? I've been looking for Studio Town and Vacation Island for ages now! And I'm not that good at building to make them myself
