Your builds are just so amazing. I need to try and get on your level!

Oh c'mon. There better be a point to all this stress I'm under.

I don't find my builds "amazing" at all. I just find a picture on the internet and then try to copy it. But thank you, I appreciate it very much!

Small update: I added a hot tub to the resort as well as a bar. I put a bathroom in the basement which has a lot of room. Not sure if I will build it (the basement) or leave it so anyone can build it as they want. I forgot that hot tubs take up space below so have to work around that. No biggie, I guess.

New lot: The Warehouse Theater. Might make some sort of criminal space above or below. Would like a couple more clubs tho. Not sure where to go with it. The Larger Than Life Movie Screen fits but it doesn't look so good. I think it's way too big for the size of the place. Might see what I can do in the basement? Unsure... I did have a picture from the internet for a kind of retro theater but am not including it as this building barely resembles it (also moved its location).

I'd like to make a couple of permanent houses for those sims that actually live on the island, the mayor, teacher, doctor etc. So here is a house based off of a really cool doll house model as seen here - http://www.cinderellamoments.com/20...ion-part-4.html

And here is one of my "hippy" trailers/caravans. I had a lot of difficulties with this lot so, glad I kind of got it underway. It's hard to make campers as you have to get rid of the foundation and once you do that things just don't want to behave properly. Anyway...I kind of went crazy with the flowers

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Aw, they are so beautiful! The interior of the stationary house is so cute, the colour scheme really gives a dollhouse feeling. And I love the caravan! There is no such thing as "too many flowers"

Overall I'm impressed that you manage to keep such a consistent style throughout all of these different buildings. The whole world feels authentic and homogeneous. And is just so pretty

Aww, thank you so much for the kind words!

I wanted to make a tiny, hippy trailer on this small lot (10x8) but I had such difficulties (and frustrations) with it that I bulldozed it and made a tiny "off the grid" house instead. It actually turned out not so tiny as I made a basement that has 2 bedrooms, bath and computer/art area. I'm pleased with this lot after all was said and done. The tiny trailer just didn't look right and as I said I had difficulties with everything from the windows to its shape, etc. I did save the lot and might see if it looks ok on one of the larger lots. (the lot is not completely decorated as my game decided to crash while trying to recolor things /grrr )

I decorated the library that has a cute coffee shop. Also the salon. Spa rug is upstairs that includes a bathroom. There is a massage table as well that is not showing in the pics.

Thank you daisylee!

Here is the "hippy" camper that I bulldozed and relocated to a larger lot. This is the smallest camper I'm ever going to build. There is a bit of room outdoors though for gardens and what-not. (I found that tents can make a second bedroom!)

And, surprise, surprise - I found lot tears. Back to Create a World I go.

Wow. That's 3 by 7 inside? Great job using space but making it come out looking so nice. My attempts at super small houses usually come out as glorified sheds.

I'm not sure how much custom content you are wanting to use but over at Around the Sims, there are half size fridges and hot plates for on top of them (as well as other conversions and stuff to match the Sims 4 Tiny House pack). I'm finding those helpful for small apartments and houses.

Thank you so much! I forgot all about that set from ATS. It says that sims can walk through it and animations might be off is why I hesitated downloading it. Does it work well?
As of now the tiny camper has an ice chest outside for the fridge (from ATS).
I appreciate your kind comments! Thanks!

Good Morning! I hope everyone is having a terrific weekend! We are having beautiful fall weather down here in Texas!

I managed to make a couple of "real" houses. The larger house is a lot I had in my library. It was a pretty small house but I really liked the interior so I added a second floor and changed/recolored the exterior a bit. I quite like it.

The next lot is a very tiny house and I think I might just add that kitchen set from ATS mentioned above. I'm still hesitant as I'm wondering about the animations/function of the set. But it would fit perfectly in it as it's so small. I had problems with getting it to look like the inspiration pic. The bay window was poking through the roof and then I had to move the front door over to make room for a living room space. I couldn't get the columns to look right on the front either so I ditched that idea. Eh, I tried.

Thank you all for following my progress and your positive comments!

Hello!
Well, I only have 2 lots to finish in Hylewood. I'm waiting to hear from Nilxis about sharing this little island w/save. Thanks again for following the progress and your positive comments!

Hi, KatyFernlily! I just found your project and I love everything you've done so far Every building is unique and made with a lot of taste, and adding all these campers is a great idea. I have absolutely no problem with you sharing your version of the island, can't wait to see the final result!

Thank you so much, Nilxis! I love Hylewood and I've had so much fun building it up and sharing it with the MTS community. I really appreciate the fact that you are willing to let others "tweak" your work and then share the results. It's a monumental task to create a world and I love all your creations. I look forward to the release of Uranesia. It's truly amazing!
Thank you again for allowing me to share this little bit of enjoyment during these trying times!

I was so excited to hear from Nilxis about sharing Hylewood that I wanted to share some more of the world with you all. I'll be honest - I cheated with some of the mobile home/trailers. I had created these years ago and decided they were cute enough to add to the town.

I also discovered some more routing issues, so once again, went back into CaW to fix it. I had missed some routing paint under the wall behind the "main street" houses. (sims don't look right walking through solid walls!) And while I was there anyway I added another small lot at the end of the road that goes past the other campground. I thought it would make a nice spot for a fortune teller/elixir/apothecary shop. So I have 3 lots to finish instead of 2. And I did change the name of the street to "Main Street" as I decided the name I gave it to begin with just didn't fit the theme. I had named it Seaside Ave. but really the coast looks more like one of the many U.S. lakes up north. Every town needs a main street!

I had to fix the large park lot near the coastline as well. My sim would not enter the lot from the north side but would walk all the way around to the sides to get on the lot. And this occurred on both sides of the lot. It's the retaining wall that was getting in the way. But I figured it out. I did have this issue in another world where there was like a huge strip of land that was unroutable because of the distant terrain (I think). Anyway, by placing sidewalks over the non-routable area the sim was able to walk from one side to the other. I used this same idea to fix the lot in Hylewood. I just placed sidewalks over the non-routable spaces and voile! they can enter the way I want them to. (Also got rid of a spawner that was creating "flying" fish )

I enlarged the post office just a bit and made it an eclectic bookstore. (Ignore the OMSP). I wonder if there is a mod to have an actual post office to collect your mail? Anyway...I'm rambling so here are the photos. Have a wonderful day!

Hello!
Here are a couple cabins I've not shown before. These are not my creations but I did alter them. I've had them in my game for years and they are cute as can be. The tiny one does have room to expand and the larger one has 2 bedrooms.

I found this other house plan and I just had to make it. One needs a lighthouse keeper to go with the lighthouse, right? It has a loft bedroom that I've always wanted to have. Not sure if I built it right but it does work.
Hope you all are having a great day!

Hello!
I found a really neat lot to use for the herb/mushroom apothecary type shop I mentioned earlier. I almost left it like it is, because I think it would make a really great junkyard, but I really wanted a place for herbs as no other lots have space. I also wanted a place for grapes and possible nectary and this lot has the room for all of it. After reading this thread from nitromon - https://modthesims.info/t/599598 - I thought this would be a good lot to try this out on. Credit & Thanks to luvalphvle for your lot, it's so very cool! https://modthesims.info/d/531506

I'm also working on the final camper for Hylewood. So it's almost finished. I'd like to do some testing, making sure everything works as it should. I've done a bit but really want to be 100% on this. I did learn that double beds need a tile on either side of it for a sim couple to use so I located a double bed that works when placed against a wall. (The animation is not too bad so I'm using it). I'm compiling a cc list for the exteriors of the buildings as no cc will be included. The list will include just the basics like windows, doors and the objects I used on the campers. Otherwise they won't look right. But I will leave that up to you guys, at least you will have an option. No telling how it will look without the cc that I've used. I tried to keep it simple and not use too many different things. I'm not going to list cc that I've used on interiors (and some exteriors) as decoration unless asked and I'll be happy to help locate it if need be. Ya'll will have to decorate the lots as you see fit. The double bed would probably be a necessary download as these campers/cabins are so small...unless you have other ideas for sleeping sim couples

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! MTS has been so quiet lately
(Thanks for the nice comments all!!!)

Another really pretty build! So cute

And I agree, it is really quiet lately...

If you are interested, I would like to offer my help in play testing the world. I could also run a no CC test to provide screenshots on how it looks like when the game has performed its replacing logic... So feel free to PM me, if you think this will be of any use for you

Thank you Smyrrna! I will let you know. I'm not completely done as yet, but almost! I'm excited!

I finished the last camper and it really came out better than I expected. It started out looking like a box and well, it turned out really nice, if I do say so myself The interior is kind of set up like the others. I've not figured out any other way to cram in everything that's needed so...eh.

I'm going to make a pool hall type place above the movie theater to match up with the criminal warehouse that's up there. Those crooks need a place to scheme. There are a few other things that I want to include but for the most part the lots are finished! I want to make the herb garden/shop less expensive so going to redo the furniture to something cheaper. That's one thing I like about my personal cc - it's cheap. So most of the lots are affordable.

I made the lighthouse into a small club/casino. (A pool table would not fit) More places for sims to go hang out and also it's a good spot for the tourists staying at the resort to spend some time. I think it needs a few more finishing touches. It's not real lively looking but I didn't want an empty building. In my mind it's an historical landmark in Hylewood so I might shift things around to make it more of a tourist trap? It might end up being different then it is now...unsure.

So anyway...I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Thanks again for your interest in this project! I appreciate it!

Hello!

I just wanted to show the last few things I've done with Hylewood. (Haven't done the herb/apothecary yet, waiting till I test it a bit).

I added the pool hall to the warehouse/theater building. It's the criminal hideout you can see there on the floor boards. I also sectioned off the basement with the movie set door & theater rug. (not tested) I thought the section that is left can be used as an art gallery or whatever you think might fit. There is no specific art gallery in Hylewood.

I also changed the post office building by adding some stairs to go up to the "dr.'s office/clinic", and put in a bakery. Every town needs a bakery, I swear the town I live in has like 4 of them. It's pretty small but you could always enlarge it into the "school" part of the building or put the school rug elsewhere. It's totally up to you. I left room for your own creativity!

I put in a few things around the resort - mainly some lighting and sitting area and something for the kids to do. Sims can fish and swim right outside the resort. I have seen a couple sims try to walk down the river like it's a road. I'll have to test that out and might have to put in some non-routing paint if it seems like a problem. I sectioned off the basements as well, but will leave it empty so you can create it the way you want. I don't know much of owning a resort but it seems like it would be fun. I added another layer for a large swimming pool/pool bar or whatever you want to create to make it the way you want. Hopefully it's enough room to add all that's needed to make it a 5 star!

I'm leaving the town hall building completely empty so you can add what you like. I have it with the rugs for town hall, business office, arboretum and vault of antiquity. There is space at the top for an apartment or whatever you so desire! (shown in previous posts). I think there is enough residential but if not you can change whatever you like. This world can be used as a home world or vacation spot. It's totally up to you!

So, it won't be long now and this little project will be available for you all to play. I hope everything will work properly. Keep it mind that the lots are small and from what little testing I've done there might be some foot stomping going on? I've encountered some of this but some of it seems to be a put on as they eventually go and do what they are stomping about to begin with.

Have a great day!
