Now I counted how many GUIDs I have, and I have approximately 11 787. Seems like removing around 1000 of them does the trick, so maybe the max amount is somewhere between 10 000-11 000.

Alas, no, not yet. It definitely seems to be a hard-coded thing, not something that can be changed by altering a number in a config file. I'm quietly hoping some magician like LazyDuchess might be able to crack it, but until then, it's just a case of deciding whuch objects you like best and hanging on to the rest, just in case.
