Default Project - Hyrule
The world is Hyrule from Zelda Ocarina of Time and will be keeping the same feel with some some artistic license on updated areas such as a 2nd house next to the castle which will a blank lot for the player to make there own house (call this Links modern technology house for winning)

There will be 3 majorly expanded towns of Hyrule Castle town, Death Mountain town and Gerudo Fortress. Kokiri Forrest will be expanded only a little by a few houses so that it keeps the secluded feel to it.

Behind the Main castle and players house are parks for the houses and and a downhill river.

So I don't have to Link what I have currently done again in here here is my post in the show us what you done. Link

Allot of texture detailing of areas like Hyrule Field hills won't be done until much later.

Game Requirements

Expansions Required - World Adventures, because this world couldn't be done without it.
Custom Content - Hope we can do this without Custom Content and just World Adventures but if this changes this is where you'll find that info.

Detailed Info

Detailed breakdown of the worlds areas ares listed below.

There are 4 main areas where you guys can help.

Environment Lots (Currently Recruiting)
These are areas are specifically shaped to the world environment around them and are specific parks and locations such as, Zoras Waterfalls, some Lost Woods areas, Hyrule River, bridges in Koriri Forrest etc.

Only 1 person at a time will be allowed to work on this due to the fact you need to modify the world also.

Themed Places
These areas are the specific Ocarina of Time Buildings and are on flat land so they can be built separately from the world.

New Towns (Open Lot placement)
This is the free form new towns that are only in the (Open Lot Placement) areas where you can let your creativity go wild.

World Editors
This is for those that want to help supplement me on making, texturing and fine tuning the core world which will be a big help and speed this up allot. I am not asking for people to help here but if you want to you are allowed to msg me.

* For Environment Lots and World editors I will set up a FTP account to my server here for you to use to grab and upload the the world files.

Below is the breakdown of each lot with there lot types, this will be filled in more as things progresses:

Open Lot Placement

Open Lot placement is where the lot placements and types deviate from the original game with more, new and up to date buildings.

You can see most areas are listed to stay the same as the original game apart from 3 main town areas.

Areas with open lot placement: (more buildings etc for layout)
- Hyrule Castle Town
- Death Mountain Town (Kakariko Village)
- Gerudo Vally Town

Areas without open lot placement: (layout true to game)
Hyrule Castle
Laky Hylia
Kokiri Forrest (Double the amount of lots from the original though)
Hyrule Feild
Death Mountain
Lost Woods
Haunted Wasteland
Zoras Domain
Fishing Spot
Lon Lon Ranch

Detailed Area Breakdown
Below is each area and its breakdown using the area codes as above, if a whole area is one type it'll say so in the area title.

Thanks for the support guys.

I seem to have slowed down as now most of the main terrain stuff is done I'm finding blocks in my creativity and ability to make really good stuff with this.

So suggestions feedback and ideas on anything in this world would be really helpful at this stage.

When you are doing the lots, make sure the edge is as flat as possible where it meets the road, otherwise you get some really funky lot edges and sometimes "rips" in your road graphics ingame. Also, snap to grid mode is very very very helpful.

You also might try reducing the opacity and fall off to less than ten and then doing a light wash over the stone areas in sand or dark sand, it helps reduce the odd graphic effect that the stone has.

Ive done a little work not much mainly just added a few things to the fishing pond and put the pass between lost woods and Zoras Domain in and a bridge to Gerudo.

Haven't played played with falloff or opacity yet so thanks.

May try that on a test map before I do anything currently using autopaint to just get a feel and see where there are any errors with landscaping.

candlelight82 I'll keep that in mind for when I'm up to stuff like that and what would you be interested in doing? (had a look at your mansion house screens on here wow its nice)

As there are probably 3 areas where lot map makers will come in handy.

Environment Will need to distribute the CAW world files for interested people as they are molded to the terrain.
Parks, Zoras Waterfalls, Lost Woods areas, Hyrule River, bridges in Koriri Forrest etc.

Themed Places
Shops and Houses from the game

New Town Stuff
General towns, Houses, Shops Parks etc non game specific.

Environment is something that currently needs mapmakers for for Zoras Domain and the Hyrule River so if anyone is willing to have a look at doing this I'll setup a FTP account on my server for them to grab the CAW files also you can look at improving other parts of the map as you'll have the world files as long as I know about it.

I'll update the first post about this.

(Now updated with allot of detail about the lots and is ready for assigning to help speed up development of this world)

I'd do more on the castle wall but you can only rotate the grid up to 90' for default snapping :/ dunno why they locked it at that as the angle as I kinda need more than that for the other side than road for correct object orientation so I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to finish the wall due to this.

Lon Lon ranch Needs a wall but I dunno what to use for that.

If anyone has ideas for the road and lot layouts of the 3 main towns feel free to quickly whip something up in paint etc for me with some height gradients as that looks to be needing to start before I can do much more landscaping around the towns.

Koriri hasn't had any more work for the town done as I dunno where to put the lots etc so someone if they want can take the image of that town and paint some lots in angles they think would look good. the road goes to the entrance as it is mostly paths inside would look weird driving out of there lot walking to the entrance then getting back in there car again.

Ive been playing a bit of OOT with a full save I grabbed just to have a good look and to get a feel for the world and I think I have mostly recreated the feel for some of the areas despite needing to do changes so I didn't have to redo areas.

My death mountain and most hills for the matter sucks and the hill flow from ground to mountains isn't as good as other peoples volcano's and hills and I'm willing to let someone take a look and re-sculpt to update these if they want as I've spent like 3-4 full days on this trying to tweak the hills.

I have a small treat for you all.

I have made Links private cave behind the waterfall.

The lot in the cave is done but nothing is on it currently.

For those wondering objects like rocks in the world on lots make them transparent to both sims and building. So yea you can make hidden areas etc if you wanted. But Ive fenced the entrance area off and will do something similar in the cave.

I am going to try to clean up the terrain around the cave some more later and hopefully adding some light greenery in to make the waterfall look a little aged.

Advice on making the top of the waterfall look natural and what to do at the bottom in that gap behind the railing and what to do with the inside of the cave is appreciated.

If there is anything really out of place please feel free to let me know.

Also look the first post on how you can help speed this world up as map makers are appreciated.:D

Any tips on making that first post neat and easy to read let me know also.

So enjoy the 2 screens of the cave and 1 of the bridges in Kokiri Forrest.

Can it be done without EA sets and we can add them later as needed if it cant then we have no choice but to add them?

Looking good so far on the base construction colours need to be more white but texturing can be achieved later.

Update: I exported the world and had a brief play with a couple sims to get a feel for what I have done.

The scale seems way too big about twice the size of the original game especially Kokiri forest which is like 4 times as big :/ but that's ok I think.

Some how the default routing from CAW doesn't work as the sims insisted on running up the very steep side of death mountain.

Something is off on pathing inside the cave as I had the red not accessible sign always come up inside the cave so anyone know about this?

hmm should hyrule castle be residental or community???

Residential I'd say its not a community lot.

So the player can have a royal family for the house if they want.

Outside is looking good.

Colours and textures should try to match the game as best as they can.

Loose the bales I think they look too out of place.

There should be tower at the moat where you enter the castle round the side.

Straight from the entrance gate is the great fairy's fountain that would be good to add in.

I would recommend getting the inside courtyard done next to exact scale before anything else as that's all done in 1 square blocks, really need the inner courtyard exact as thats a key feature to the game, thought you would have done that first then worked arround it, Hopefully it'll match the castle scale you already have but I have a feeling it may not. So you might want to keep that in mind as the inner courtyard cant be reduced in size or quality.

Hope you got the full save as then you can fly over the gaurds and take your time to map the inner exact.

Also the bridge there's meant to be water under it as you swim to avoid the gaurds.

I know you may be changing a couple things from the game to make it look nice but I'm hoping to get this a exact replica the best we can to the game for what we know and the rest from what we can do around that.

Also the inner courtyard where you meet zelda you can fly over the walls for a small glimpse at 2 rooms and a walkway.

If the other stuff was made with the castle stuff could you show me the diff between castle and non castle for cc?

And what other CC than the castle would you want to use?

Sorry is this seems like a harsh post.

Feel free to pm me any questions you have.

Good God! What a project! I'm very excited, like everyone else.

Zelda lives in the castle, so yes, definitely residential. I'm ashamed of myself, but I can't remember the name or the race of people in the nearby village, the one with the well and the cemetary. There's that one particular individual who protects Zelda, and escorts Link out of the Castle village. I think she would make a fabulous sim for this project. -now I'm wondering if this is really where she comes from. My brain is all jumbled 'cause it's been quite a while since I played Zelda.

I know you're looking for map help, and I might look at something small to contribute, because I think my landscaping skills are very limited :-) Let me go take a look.

I just had a major thought - separate post and everything!!!!

In China, there's the dragon's mouth that opens into a tomb. The Great Deku Tree could be fashioned from this, maybe.

What do you think?

Too bad we cant have lots connected.

After some thinking here is the plan Id go for:

- Take 1 fountain out.
- Reduce statue size.
- Reduce headge area width by taking the space out between the headge and statue and reduce each side by 2.
- Reduce zeldas walkway by 2 squares width and lengthwise also
- Halve the size of zeldas area so its proportional

Hmmm shape the land some non playable lots etc is doable I hope.

And the one you mean is Impa, and as a note Sheik is Zelda in disguise who helps link.

The town your looking for is Kakariko Village.

The map help sure I'm fine with that let me know what CAW areas you want to look at and I'll setup a ftp account, my mapping is very limited also but I've gotten some of the main stuff done.

Areas around Kokiri and Zoras domain may be edited a little, especially to make Kokiri smaller as its way to large as is, if people want he Zoras kings area and Jabu Jabu's area in which will go round about where I currently have the deku tree and lost woods mapped out.

Take a bit of time to reposition. and I've started already on a bridge save.

candlelight : You're good :-)

Actually, now that I think about it, that entrance is just a hidden door, right? Do you think I could work on the Deku tree?

Thanks for the info. I knew about Sheik :-). And, yes, I believe Impa would be a great addition to this project.

Are you planning on having the tree? It would be cool to have a separate lot for it, and then I could work without having to tie up your world, right?

Edit: Oh, and it could have a smallish tomb in it!

@Simmiller..
i had a secret door in the wall, but that won't function, because there are two walls so i would need two secret doors.. and they are just too big and i would need floor tiles around the secret doors... hope someone is making a secret door with 1 floor width someday... DID EVERYBODY HEAR THAT???
I think the tree is a 'must have' in hyrule...
I'm really curious how you plan to build it? maybe like a rabbithole???

I only have the basics in my mind right now, and I'm quite sure I'd get a lot of help over in creator's land. I know I'd have to actually. I thought of having as much space as possible being a basement. I could happily construct much fun and excitement in there. And maybe have a camouflaged main floor to help with the tomb construction. I'm also thinking I'd have to construct a whole new kind of tree. About that, I'm a complete novice, and I don't know how long it would take me. I'm sure I'd have time, though, as this is a huge project.

And that's all right now. :-)

What size lot could you spare for this? I'm wondering, though, now about the main floor, because that would mean rising land, and if I remember correctly, you had to go down towards the tree. Oh, wait, what about sub-basements?

I don't know much about editing objects, but I could learn. My thought process is working around the same type of effect as a waterfall. Only, where the waterfall is, is where the entrance would be.
