I just had to comment. This is beyond awesome! I hated how the stairs reacted next to walls in the sims 2(and 3 for that matter) and this is the perfect fix.

This is a lovely mod and I'd love to try it out, but it's not showing up under Staircases in Build Mode. Going to keep looking for it (I've just verified that it's installed ...)

This is FANTASTIC! I've been looking for one of these! Excellent work old bean!

I love this so much! It is extremely helpful in lot building. I absolutely had to use it the second I got a chance in game.
I also thought it would be cool to let you know that I figured something out using these.
I'm going to try and explain this but I'm not sure how good it will be so please bare with me.
If you make a stair case with two blocks exposed, and place the walls as needed. Then use the x2 stair well fix on stage, it creates a railing instead of having to use the railing that comes with it.
I like this because it creates a loft, or kind of modern look for the stairs.
The only issue is that when walls are down it still shows. :/
But I think this is good enough to give up for this really cool look.

I enjoyed these for a month before computer exploded. Downloaded again, but can't FIND. Read they were supposed to be under "stairs", but I expected them in "window" -NOT; and not in misc. Will dowload again, but hope someone has suggestion.

UPDATE: works now, but IS under "windows"

Always hated having to choose between showing the stair, using an open underneath stair, and having a wall. I know this will make my game nicer to look at! I have plans for a walkup apartment building that this would help make perfect!
