How well this will work depends on the item. Male and female heads are different shapes, so things don't always line up properly.

It's very easy to change if you know how to use SimPe, so you can just try it and see how the item looks.

Open the item in SimPe.

1. In the left pane, click on Mesh Overlay XML.

One or more items will appear in the right pane. You will probably want to change each of them.

2. Click on the first one.

3. A long list will appear on the lower left. Find "gender" and click on it.

4. That number will appear in the "Value" box on the right. Change it and hit "Commit."

Do all the Mesh Overlays, then save.

Here are the values.

1 - female
2 - male
3 - both

Here's a screen shot.

Hey, doesn`t the Wardrobe Wrangler do this too? SimPE is far more powerful, but with great power comes great responsibility, and it is easy to mess things up if you don`t know what you`re doing. Wardrobe Wrangler is far less powerful, but also far safer: It gives you far fewer opportunities to mess with things that shouldn`t be messed with.

I'm not sure if Wardrobe Wrangler lets you change gender on accessories. It's worth trying, though. As you said, much safer and also much easier to use.

Lol, it does EVERYTHING. It is the all powerful god editor of sim files. If you don't know what you are poking at, you can do stuff thats really bad for your game. If you follow the explanation as above perfectly, nothing will go wrong. Wardrobe Wrangler is probably a better answer for your level and what you want it to do. It comes with a read me that tells you how to use it too.

What items are you wanting to change? If you post some pictures we'll know if they'll look right if you change them.
