Can you not hang them on the wall (or anywhere with cheats) and sell them that way? I am asking because even if you put them on the shelves, which I guess would require changing the placement BHAVs, they would remain upright and would look funny.

Yes, the plate has special BHAV coding in it to change its position depending on whether it's on the wall or on a surface. The potholder does not. It might be much easier to use snapobjectstogrid false and the shifting function in AL to place the potholders on the side of the shelves, counters, other objects etc. than try to copy that code. Might even look better - a little disorder only makes a shop more realistic.
