actually Maxis was the developer, Electronic Arts is the publisher. Maxis left the sims franchise to work on spore when it was new.

Cant get the mod to work. I'm using The Sims 3 Patch 1.67.2 I follow the guide but the intro still appears, this is my first mod. Do i need any program for the latest patch?

the sims was created all solely by maxis until ea bought them out sometime during the sims 1 era
will wright, the creator of the sims, stopped working on the sims to create spore during the sims 2 era
just wanted to explain why ea is bringing back the nostalgia and to clear up any confusion

This is soooo appreciated! I hated the intro. If the game never crashed it may not be bad, but when you have a smaller computer and have to restart all the time it is extremely annoying. This mod took me right to the loading screen. I love it!

Sims 3 now loads quicker. Thankie <3
