Default Painful Disregard - Chapter 6 *new*!
Hi all. I want to apologize for my last story... something happened to the 'hood and I had to delete it. I guess it's good that I wasn't too far into the story....

I thought I'd post my version of Pleasantview drama. I know everyone has their version of what happens with the premade families... but this is mine. Hope you enjoy! (and it WILL be finished).

“I know what your plans are now that mom’s gone to work, dad. You’re going to mess around with the trampy maid, aren’t you!” Lilith yelled at her father. “No one else is this house believes me, but I’ve got you all figured out, dad!”
Daniel tried not to look guilty. “Lilith, I would never do that to your mother. Why would you ever suspect such a thing?”
Lilith couldn’t tell her father exactly how she knew. She skipped school one afternoon with a bunch of her friends and saw him kissing her through the living room window.

Angela walked up and slapped Lilith in the face. “How could you accuse dad of something like that?” she yelled at her twin sister. “Dad loves mom, he would never do anything like that to her!”

Lilith looked shocked, and then angry. “Well you go ahead believing that about your daddy dearest. It’s his fault this house is falling apart! It’s his fault none of us get along anymore!” Lilith rubbed her face.
Angela pointed her finger at Lilith. “No, it’s YOUR fault, Lilith. You are always trying to start trouble, and this is just another example.” Angela walked outside to the school bus.
Lilith glared at her father as she walked by him. She knew what he was all about, now she just had to prove it.

After the girls were gone, Daniel began his daily workout. He started thinking about his daughters, and his wife. ‘Maybe I am the problem.’ he thought. He loved his wife, but things were different between them. They barely touched each other anymore, and disagreed on most of what went on with their daughters. He knew it was wrong, but Kaylynn made him feel young again.
“Maybe I should break things off with Kaylynn before it goes too far.” He said to himself. “I don’t want to break up my family.

Later that morning, Kaylynn came over like usual to clean the house. Daniel called her over to the couch with him. He put his arm around her and she moved closer.
“Kaylynn, I need to talk to you.” his voice got serious. “One of my daughters knows about us. I don’t know how, but she knows.”
Kaylynn continued to smile. “Which one? You have such sweet girls, both of them.”

Daniel stood up. “Which one? What difference does that make?” He looked angry. “She’s probably going to tell my wife any time now, and she’ll divorce me and take the girls! Aren’t you concerned at all?”

Kaylynn stood up and moved close to him. “I am concerned, but I don’t think you have to worry.” She kissed him on his neck. “Your girls aren’t going to talk. They know that your wife will leave you, and they don’t want that. They’ll probably use this info to blackmail you.” She rubbed her body close to his. “Why not get something out of it?”

Daniel was weak to her control. The way he touched her made him so comfortable that he forgot about all of his troubles.
She started to take his clothes off and pulled him onto the couch with her. “Don’t worry, Daniel. Would it really be the worst thing if your wife found out?”
Daniel kissed her body. He didn’t want to think about his wife, or anything else. He knew what he was doing was wrong, and he was going to end it. Just… not today.

In the middle of their passion, Daniel heard the school bus pull up to the house.
“Oh shit!” he said. “Is it one o’clock already? The girls are home!” He jumped up and threw his clothes one.
Kaylynn casually pulled her skirt back on. “Oh boy. Just in time.” she said sarcastically.

Daniel pulled himself together and greeted Angela as she came in. “Hey sweetheart! How was school.”
Angela watched Kaylynn as she walked by. “It was good, I got straight A’s.” Kaylynn walked out of the room.
“That’s wonderful, Angela!” Daniel reached out to hug her but Angela pulled away.
“What is she still doing here?” she asked suspiciously.
Daniel tried not to act nervous. “Well, I just noticed some things that needed some extra work so I asked her to stay for a couple more hours, that’s all.” He hoped Angela believed him. “I think she’s getting ready to leave soon.”

In the meantime, Lilith joined Angela’s boyfriend, Dustin, on the sofa. “Hey Dustin, what’s up?” she said.
Dustin tried not to look at her. “Not much, you?”
Lilith moved a little closer to him. She tugged at her skirt, pulling it up a bit. “Oh, nothing. Just thinking about going shopping.” she rubbed her thighs as she saw him looking at her out of the corner of his eyes. “I need some new undies. These are just so restricting.”

Dustin stood up and started to walk away. Lilith followed him and put her hand on his shoulder. “What’s wrong?”
Dustin turned around. “Nothing, I’m just waiting on Angela. We’re supposed to study together…”
Lilith moved closer to him. “Don’t worry about Angela. I saw her go outside with my dad.” She picked up his hand and put it on her breasts. “I know you want me, Dustin. I’ve seen the way you look at me.”
Dustin pulled his hand away. She was right, he did notice her. Angela was always doing the right things… straight A’s, never got in trouble, never loud. He wouldn’t even let him kiss her yet. Lilith was the complete opposite, and it fascinated him. “I can’t…”
Lilith saw Angela coming toward the room behind Dustin. ‘Perfect.‘ she thought. She pulled him close and tried to kiss him.

Dustin pushed her back. “No, Lilith! I don’t want to do this!” he yelled to her.
Lilith tried again. “Yes you do, Dustin, I know you do!”

“What the hell are you doing, Lilith!” Angela yelled as she walked in the room.
Lilith put her hand on her hip casually. “Dustin tried to make out with me.” she said, matter-of-factly.
Angela wasn’t buying it. “No he didn’t! I saw what you did!”

“I know what you’re trying to pull, Lilith! Get out of here and leave my boyfriend alone!” Angela yelled, raising her fists at her sister.
Lilith laughed. “What are you gonna do? Hit me?” she taunted. “I’d like to see you try.”
Dustin watched the two girls wondering what was really going on. Did Lilith really plan this or did she actually have a crush on him?

Angela turned around and wrapped her arms around her boyfriend. “Never mind, you’re not worth it.” She laid her head on his shoulder. Lilith walked out of the room. “That’s alright, Angela. I’ll get him.”

In the meantime, Daniel was in the kitchen watching his wife cook. For some reason, she looked more beautiful today that she’d looked in a long time. He walked over to her and took her hands. “Oh, Mary-Sue,” he said “do you remember when I used to call you Suzie?”
Mary-Sue looked surprised. “Um, yes. Of course I remember.” she sighed. “Those were the good ol’ days, weren’t they?” she knew her marriage was suffering. She’d taken on a difficult job and with that and the girls, they never had time alone anymore.

Daniel moved closer and touched her face. “It can still be that way, Suzie. It doesn’t have to change.”
Mary-Sue felt goose bumps all over. His touch felt so good, and for the first time in a long time, she actually felt emotion behind it. “I wish it didn’t.”

Daniel pulled her face to his and gave her a gentle kiss. “I love you, Suzie. We need to get away from all of this. Let’s go away together.” he held her tighter. “I’ll plan a trip for just the two of us. We’ll call it our second honeymoon.” He smiled.
She laughed. “But I can’t leave the girls. And my job…”
Daniel interrupted her. “Don’t worry about all of that. Just think about you and me. I’ll handle everything.” He kissed her again and felt her melt into his arms. This is right where he needed to be.

Default Chapter 2

Kaylynn sat in the kitchen of her trailer, looking around at the cold, shabby walls. It was a lonely home, but she had dreams of something much bigger. She’d always wanted a family; handsome husband, great kids, big house… she knew she would get there some day.

She thought about Daniel, and how he was probably at home playing perfect family man right now. Playing the perfect husband to his wife, the perfect dad to his twin girls, in their huge perfect home. She wanted that life with Daniel.

She looked down at the little white stick on the table showing two visible pink lines. Positive. She picked up the pregnancy test to look at it closer. “It worked.” She said with relief.

Default Chapter 3

Where have you been all afternoon, Dustin?!” Brandi yelled at her son. “Let me guess, at the Pleasant house with Daniel’s slutty daughters!” She slurred her words as she stumbled in front of Dustin, obviously drunk.
“Go have another one, mom.” Dustin mumbled sarcastically as he started to walk away.
Brandi grabbed his arm. “Where do you think you’re going? Don’t walk away from me!”

Dustin looked at his mother. He remembered when she was happier… before his father died, before she started drinking. When they were a real family.
“…and get this shit cleaned up, too!”

She stormed out and Dustin followed her, “How am I supposed to study or do anything with you partying all the time? That’s exactly why I spend every day at Angela’s!” he yelled at her.
He looked at Nina and Dina, his mom’s drinking buddies and shook his head. “You guys are stupid.”

Brandi stumbled to the side. “Don’t you call me stupid, little boy! Now go… do some homework or something.” She laughed as she walked into the kitchen with her friends. “Who’s ready for another shot!”

Dustin scooped up his little brother and brought him into his room with him. “Come on, buddy. You don’t need to be around this.” He put Beau down with one of his toys and laid on his bed.
He started thinking about Angela and what a great girlfriend she was. She’s the girl I want to marry one day, he thought.

Then he started thinking about Lilith. She was crazy… a real troublemaker, and yet, he was somehow very attracted to her.
“I’ve got to stop thinking about Lilith! Angela is my girlfriend, my one and only. That’s it!” He got up and played with his little brother on the floor.

Several hours later, Dustin woke up to see little Beau curled up beside him on the bed, sound asleep. He scooped him up and brought him out to his crib. The house was quiet, and he saw his mother passed out on the couch in the living room.
“Well at least now we can get some sleep, huh little buddy?” he said to the toddler as he tucked him in.

Dustin was just about to lay down for bed when he heard a knock at his window. “What the heck….” He got up to go look.

He looked out the window and saw Lilith standing in the rain. “Come on, let me in!” she whispered. “It’s raining like hell out here!”
Dustin hesitantly let her climb through the window into his room. “What are you doing here, Lilith!” he said.

Lilith wiped the rain from her face and moved close to him. “You know why I’m here.” She said suggestively. “You wanted to see me.”
Dustin tried to step back but he was cornered by the bed and his mess. “No I didn’t. I’m going out with your sister and you know that. Now you’ve got to get out of here before my mom catches you!”

Lilith stepped closer to him and whispered in his ear. “Your mom is passed out, no one knows I’m here. We’re all alone now…” She picked his hands up and put them around her waist. “I know what you want to do, Dustin, and I won’t tell anyone.”
Dustin was scared to death. He had fantasized about this many times before but never thought it would actually happen. He tried to pull his shaking hands away from her grasp. “No, Lilith. Please, don’t…”

Lilith put her hand over his mouth. “Shhh….” She said as she moved her face closer to his. Dustin had never even kissed a girl before so he didn’t know what to do. Lilith put her hand behind his neck and pulled his lips to hers. She kissed him, and although he felt terrible he didn’t stop her. It felt so good, like something he’d been longing for so long.
Lilith stopped the kiss. “So, is there anything else you want to do?” She whispered as she glanced over at the bed.
Dustin tried to pull away. “No! What? Lilith are you crazy? My mom is… and Angela…” He nervously wiped his face. “You really have to leave, now!”
“Don’t think about any of them, Dustin. No one will ever find out.” She pulled him back to her. “I want you, right now.” She slid her hands underneath of his shirt.
Dustin knew how wrong this was. His first time should be with Angela, not her sister! He knew Lilith had done this before so it was no big deal to her, but he promised Angela they would wait for each other.
Lilith walked towards the bed taking him with her. “Come on, Dustin. I promise you won’t regret this.”

She pulled him down to the bed on top of her. He kissed her and started to take off her clothes. Oh well, he thought. As long as no one finds out, right….

Dustin woke the next morning to the sound of his mother crying. He looked next to him, Lilith was gone. “Oh shit!” he said, jumping up. “Mom must have caught her!” He threw on his clothes and ran out into the living room.

He found his mom standing in the living room, crying hysterically. Lilith was no where to be seen.
“Mom, what’s wrong?”
Brandi tried to talk through her tears. “They… they came and… he’s…” she forced through sobs.
Dustin walked closer to her. “What is it, mom?”
Brandi took a deep breath. “They took him, Dustin! They came and took him away!”
Dustin was confused. He looked around the room. “They who? What’d they take? What’s going on, mom!”

Brandi threw her arms around her son. “Your brother! They took him away from me!” Her body was shaking with sobs. Dustin felt his body go numb. His heart sank to his stomach. “They took Beau? But why?”
Brandi wiped her face on his shirt. “I don t’ know, but they say I can’t ever have him back.”
Dustin held his mother as she cried. He was grief stricken. He loved his baby brother so much. He practically raised him after their father died. How could this happen? How could she let this happen?

Great story! Love how you manage to draw me in, even though these characters are so "familiar" -- you have a way of presenting them in a new way. Thank you for posting, and please do continue!

Thanks for the comments! I have to warn everyone, I wrote this story a little darker than most of the Pleasantview stories out there. I hope no one gets disappointed with the way I write the characters. The reason I did it is because I have played Pleasantview so many times and have done it in so many ways that I needed something completely different.

Default Chapter 4

“Girl, you’d better be getting ready instead of sitting around!” Nina said. She leaned on the counter to see what her sister was doing.
Dina gave her an evil look and put her cell phone in her pocket. “Don’t be nosy!” She stood up and walked into the living room. “I don’t need to get ready, I already have a job tonight.”

Nina followed her. “What? Why not? Have you even asked Don about it yet?”
Dina laid on the couch and cut on the TV. “I’m not worried about Don.” she yawned. “Aren’t you tired from last night? Brandi fed me way too much alcohol.”
Nina still looked at her with concern. “Um, if you don’ t call Don, he’s gonna be pissed. You don’t care?” She sat on the chair next to her sister.

Dina sighed. “Ugh, Nina, get out of my face, please.” She laid her head down on the arm of the couch. “I’m going out with Mortimer tonight, if you must know.”
Nina cut off the TV. “What!? You know what Don said about Mortimer.” She put her head in her hands. “If Mortimer doesn’t go through Don, he’s off limits! You can’t do these jobs on the side. Don will find out and…who knows what he’ll do!”
Dina sat up. “God, Nina, you worry too much! Don won’t care if I go out with Mortimer, I’ll still give him his cut.” She stretched and stood up.
Nina just stared at her. “Yeah right. If I had a client like Mortimer I could quit this hourly crap.”

Just then Nina’s cell phone rang. She looked at the caller ID. “Oh shit, it’s Don.” She answered the phone. Dina rolled her eyes.
“No, Don, I don’t think Dina is going tonight.” she paused. “Um, I don’t know why not…” “What am I going to tell him?” she mouthed to her sister.
Dina took the phone from her. “Don, hey.” Nina heard Don getting loud on the other end of the line. “I already have a date tonight, Don. And don’t worry, he’s a big spender.” she paused. “Just trust me, okay? You’d rather me do this job tonight.”
She handed the phone back to Nina. “Here. Ya’ll have fun tonight.” She walked upstairs.

About an hour later, Dina came back down the stairs. Nina stood up as she walked in the room, looking at her older sister with envy. She was always the prettier one… tall, blonde, sophisticated. Nina felt dim in her light.
Dina spun around. “How do I look?” she asked, putting her hands on her hips.
Nina’s mouth dropped open. “My gosh, Dina, you look gorgeous!” Nina looked sad. “You’re so lucky to find a client like Mortimer who takes you out to fancy restaurants and operas.
Dina picked up her purse. “Trust me, Nina. It’s not as glamorous as it seems”

Dina took a bite of her filet minion. Mortimer glanced at her from across the table. He was lonely most of the time. His wife disappeared several years ago and he lived at home with his two children. He’d known about Don’s escort service but never thought that he would actually become a client. Don introduced him to Dina who turned out to be wonderful. He knew that she was only doing a job and that she could never fall in love with and old man like him. He didn’t care. He would do anything he could to change that.
“Is your steak satisfactory?” he asked her.
She gently wiped her mouth with her napkin. “It’s wonderful, Mortimer.” She smiled and touched his hand. “Would you like to dance?”

Dina stood up as Mortimer led her to the dance floor. He was warm, and he smelled of expensive cologne. When Don originally set her up with Mortimer she thought she had hit rock bottom. He was one of her first clients, and she was very uneasy about sleeping with an elderly man. The money was good, so she kept seeing him. She has been escorting him now for a couple of months and was beginning to feel quite a connection to him. He was such a gentleman, unlike any man her age she‘s ever dated. “If only he were forty years younger,” she thought.
Dina leaned in and whispered in Mortimer’s ear. “How about we head back to my place?” she asked him.
Mortimer spun her under his arm then kissed her. He knew people were watching them, probably wondering what a girl like her was doing with an old man like him. He didn’t care. He held out his arm, leading her to the door. “After you, my dear.”

“You’re so beautiful, Dina.” He kissed her as they lay in bed together.
“Dina smiled. “Thank you.”
Mortimer pulled her close and held her. “I really enjoy your company, Dina, as you know.” he said. “I know you’ll never feel the same, but I want to tell you that I love you.”
Dina laid there in shock. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. ‘he’s an old man!’ she thought. Old and grey and wrinkly. What would he be saying this to me? She could never tell him it was just his money. She could never tell him it was just a job, because it wasn’t true. But she could never tell him how she really felt… that she loved him too.
She laid her head down on his shoulder and didn’t say a word.

Default Chapter 5
Hey! Sorry it's been so long for an update. I got a new computer and I've been trying to get my old PV onto the new one for the story. I think I got it!

“What the hell is wrong with her, Nina? She knows that she can’t plan dates without consulting me first!” Don said angrily.
Dina sat at the table looking down at her hands, trying not to make eye contact. He was a little scary when he was mad. “I know, Don. I tried to tell her.” She looked around at Don’s place. “The life of a pimp,” she thought.
Don stormed off into the next room. Nina sat at the table wondering what her sister was doing. Probably having some fancy dinner, living the life of luxury with Mortimer. “Must be nice,” she thought.

Just then Brandi came in the door.
“Brandi!” Don said, happily. “At least you haven’t let me down tonight!” He walked over and gave her a kiss.
Brandi looked upset. “Dan, can I please talk to you? Alone?” She looked over at Nina.
Nina got the hint and started walking out of the room. “Fine, I’ll be upstairs.” Don always showed so much more interest in Dina, and even Brandi. She wondered why he didn’t think of her the same way that he did the other girls. “What is so special about them?” she thought.
Brandi sighed. “Don, tonight is really not a good night.”
Don’s expression changed. “What? Why the hell not?”

She tried to fight back tears. “I got my baby taken away last night, that’s why.”
Don looked shocked. “Damn, Brandi. What’d you do?”
“Why do you think I did something? They probably found out about this shitty ass job, if anything. Which I’m not doing tonight!”
Don slammed his fist on the table. “You’re going, Brandi! That’s it! Tonight’s a big night, and we’ve already lost Dina.”
Brandi pleaded with him. “Please don’t make me go tonight. It won’t even be worth it.”
Don moved closer to her. Suddenly he seemed so gentle. “It will be alright, Brandi. You know I need you.” He combed his hands through her hair. “No how about you and Nina give big daddy some action before I have to give you away to someone else?”

Don lay on the bed watching his two best girls. “This is the life,” he thought. Little did he know his life was about to change.

Default Chapter 6

Mortimer sat alone in his living room thinking about Dina. He had just arrived home from their date and already missed her terribly. She was so filled with youth and life that it made him feel whole again, which is something he’s needed desperately since his wife disappeared.
“Oh, Dina. If only I were a young man again, you might think of being with me for more than just my wealth.”

Mortimer stared at his reflection in the mirror. “The years just fly by.” he said, looking at his grey hair and wrinkled skin. “Why can’t I just get those years back?”
Mortimer was startled by some strange noises coming from upstairs. “What in the world is Alexander up to now.”

Mortimer walked upstairs to Alexander’s room. He was a very smart teenager, almost too smart. He built huge machines that made all sorts of noises that Mortimer had never heard. Alexander told him that it was just the new technology and that all the kids his age were into it. Mortimer didn’t know any better and he trusted his son so he believed him.
“What are you doing, son? Chatting online?” Mortimer asked.
Alexander viciously typed away at his machine while grids and buttons flashed all over. “Um, yeah, Dad. Chatting, checking email and stuff.”
Mortimer patted him on the shoulder approvingly as he started out of the room. He had no idea what any of that meant. “Ok, son. Have fun, and don’t forget; lights out at eleven.”

Alexander waited until he heard his father’s footsteps heading downstairs then opened his machine. He pulled out a vial filled with glowing pink liquid. “My work is almost complete.” he said proudly, staring at the glass. He put the vial back and shut down the machine.

He pulled a shoebox out from underneath his bed, opened it up and pulled out a scrapbook. It was full of photos, momentos, and notes of a certain person.
He touched a picture, wishing it could actually feel her flowing red hair.
“One day, Angela.” he said. “Once my potion is complete, you’ll be mine forever.”

In the next room, his older sister Cassandra lay on the bed, thinking. Thinking about her job, her father, and her future.
“I know what I want in this world,” she said to herself, “but will I ever get it?”
Just then her father buzzed her over the intercom.
“Cassandra, Mary-Sue Pleasants is here to see you. Would you like to see her?”
Cassandra smiled. “Of course, send her up.”

“Hey, Sue! I’m so happy to see you!” Cassandra said, embracing her friend.
Mary-Sue smiled. “Me too, Cass. What have you been up to today?”
Cassandra looked at the floor. “Nothing much, Sue. I didn’t hear from you this morning like I usually do…”
Mary-Sue shook her head. “I know, I know, Cass I’m really sorry. I had so much to do… and things were interesting this morning with Daniel.”

Cassandra smiled and rubbed her hands together. “Oh yeah? What was the bastard doing this time? Did you see him with Kaylynn?”
Mary-Sue snickered. “Oh yeah, they were together. Getting pretty close, too.” she got serious. “But it looked like they were arguing about something. I don’t know… I thought it was a done deal, but he might not leave me after all.”
Cassandra looked surprised. “Really? Why… what makes you think that?”
“When I got home this evening, he talked to me very sweetly. Almost like… like he wanted to make amends. I don’t know what it means. He was talking about a second honeymoon…”

Cassandra started to get frustrated. “Wait just a minute, Sue. Are you fucking serious? Amends? He’s been screwing the maid for months. He doesn’t want to make up! Just give it time, he’ll leave!”
“Yeah, but what if he doesn’t? What if he’s serious?” Mary-Sue looked at the ceiling. “God, could this get anymore complicated?”

Cassandra pulled Mary-Sue close to her. “It won’t. Just keep pushing Daniel away, don’t give him any reasons to stay.” she combed her fingers through her girlfriend’s hair. “He’ll leave, and then we can be together finally.”
Mary-Sue laid her head on Cassandra’s shoulder. “That’s how it should work out, Cass, but what if it doesn’t? What if he wants to make our marriage work? I can’t leave him! If he finds out about us he’ll take the house, the kids, the money…” she lifted her head. “He has to leave. I’ve got to figure out a way.”
Cassandra looked into Mary-Sue’s tired eyes and kissed her. “I love you, Sue.” she said. “We’ll figure this out, don’t worry.” She walked towards the bed pushing Mary-Sue down with her. “Stay with me tonight, Sue.”

Mary-Sue and Cassandra kissed each other passionately. “I can stay for a while, but I have to be home tonight. I told Daniel I just had some late paperwork to handle and that I would be home.”
“Who cares about Daniel. Let him be alone.” Cassandra started unbuttoning her suit. “I’m the one who needs you tonight.”
