Default Hybrids? Now available :D
i don't promote creators but TWALLAN ROCKS
Now you can make hybrids with his Hybrid titled mod Found Here
Go get it if you want to see a fairy/werewolf Now it makes this game complete even though it's more likely to glitch out as it's a core mod.. Like other modes even though they're fully updated! i'v experienced hardcore glitches with woohooer and MC's tattoo expand and Integration. So i don't really know how it's gonna effect my game :/ Has anyone tried it yet?

Well, it's brand new, so there are bound to be issues with it at first, although Twallan is remarkably conscientious at addressing problems as they are brought to his attention. And for the record, it is not a core mod, just a scripting mod. It also does not create the hybrid for you. You still need to use something like MC, or an EA hole, like throwing a lycan elixir on a witch, to get the hybrid. If you're worried about your game, you can always sit on the sidelines and wait for a few versions to be released to find out what bugs are identified.

Wow, exactly what I wanted, but I figured it would asking too much of the game's finicky moddability. Thanks, Twallan, for making my favorite expansion yet even better.

Hmm? Core mod? Doesn't SAY it's a core mod... and none of Twallan's OTHER mods are core mods... are you sure?

Edit: Ah, Eskie confirmed it is not a core mod. Whew Here's the description ( http://nraas.wikispaces.com/State+of+the+Mod ):
What is Hybrid ?

I have been reading a lot of posts recently about hybrid occults being created via EA bugs (such as manually assigning the hidden traits).
Prior to the latest Patch, EA had no block against hybridization. You could assign a sim both the Imaginary Friend and Vampire occults if you really wanted to.
However there was no real enthusiasm in the user community to do so, because it was sort of silly.
With the release of Witches though, the interest for hybrids appears to be greatly increased.
So I decided to throw a couple together with the unreleased version of MasterController and see what effect it has on the game.
The result was the weirdest family of sims I have ever seen.

He really should have posted pictures of the "Mummy Simbot Vampire." I'm imagining a cloth-wrapped robot with 16 gauge hypodermic needles as teeth.

FYI. For a mod that came out yesterday, it's now up to version 4. Twallan must be supernatural to be able to develop and debug this fast. I'm hard pressed to think of another person (well, Pescado does come to mind, and the mods here, of course) who devotes so much time and effort to this community in return for nothing more than our thanks (I'll probably piss Pescado off for offering a sincere thanks, he hates the touchy feely stuff).

Only one of Twallan's mods is a core mod: Error Trap.

A core mod is a mod that completely replaces one of the game's three main program files (the "core"). You can't have more than one core mod that changes the same file. Error Trap replaces a small and rarely touched file, but most other core mods replace the big file where all the game programming is. You can't use more than one of those core mods at a time, since obviously you can only have one version of the file.

So, if Twallan's mods were core mods, there could not be so many of them And THAT is the main difference between Twallan's mods and Pescado's Awesomemod. Twallan's mods are not core, so they're mix-and-match; Awesomemod is, so it's all or nothing.

As for a mod screwing up your game, that has nothing to do with mod type You can really screw up your game with a script mod like Twallan's, an XML mod, clothes, hair, even a pattern!

When I started reading the thread and saw the OP write "core mod", I had to say it was a pass, I need Error Trap. Now I read over at Twallan's site it's not a core mod, I will just wait until the mod is more stable. Interesting stuff I must say and YES, Twallan rocks!

I'm kind of confused about this. So it makes hybrids available, but you can't create them? So how do you get them?

Actually two of them are, but the other one is only used by modders, so is easily overlooked.

Just to clarify : There are actually 10 Core files. However most of the scripting is centralized in the three that [Awesome] overrides.

[Awesome] replaces three (GameplaySystems, GameplayObjects, UI)
[ErrorTrap] replaces one (ScriptCore)
[UntranslatedKey] replaces one (SimIFace)

Cmar's [XCAS] replaces UI as well, which is what makes it incompatible with [Awesome].

All I can say to Twallan, is thank you so much for you time and hard work to make such mods.

I am wondering though, will this effect genetics? For example: A Fairy/Witch hybrid has a baby with a Vampire/Werewolf hybrid, will their offspring carry two or more of its parent's genetics (Vampire/Fairy or Witch/Werewolf or vampire/fairy/witch/werewolf)? I am simply wondering this since this mod makes hybrids possible. I know the game can "bug out" and accidentally give you a hybrid.

You have to cheat.

If you already have MC, just go in "Intermediate/occult" and add an extra occult to one or both parents. Then when they have their kid, you'd get a hybrid..(possibly).

I installed the mod earlier, and thought I'd try it out on a pre-made Vampire I made. I went into 'Intermediate/Occult', and clicked on Witch (Vampire was, obviously, already selected). It didn't work - he switched from Vampire to being a Witch, losing his Vamp abilities and ghoulish skin. So, I tried again - this time selecting Werewolf and Fairy. He turned into a Fairy, only. So I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly, and I don't have any Witches that are skilled up enough to throw potions on my Vamp to try that side...

Anyone else getting problems? Or getting it to work at least...?

Ah... I didn't realise there was an update. *slaps self* I'm usually more on the ball with your mods; must pay more attention...

Sorry about that then - will download updated MC and try again. If I do encounter any problems, I will let you know...

Thanks Twallan

sounds cool but so far it's not registering 2 occulet states. when I throw a potion it changes the occulet state of my sim instead of adding a new one.
(using version 5. this happens even without other mods)

I know what core mod is. overriding EA's original messes up the game and that's what i thought Twallan's mods do that's why i'm scared

I haven't done much with this mod, but I noticed that since installing it some of the townie children around town appear to be hybrids. There's one toddler sim that I thought was just a ghost, but is scratching furniture like a werewolf too. It's pretty cool.

That is actually simply an error in the mod, you should update.

So I installed the MC and the Hybrid mod, and the MC works great but when I go into "intermediate" there is no "occult" section. I have all of the expansions, and am completely up to date. I downloaded the 1.38 versions.

Do you also have the MC Cheat module in your game? I think it might be needed. I always downloaded all MC modules.
