I might suggest one thing- using mid-rise deco buildings so you don't need to build so much!

I think that Cities Skylines has a decent set of buildings that they pulled from Cities in Motion that can work well converted to TS3.

Thank you, Jj, for the suggestion. Yes, I try to create a "Japanese big city" feel, and yes, now that I upload the pic, I can see that these deco skycrapers from Aroundthesims3 (conversions from TS4) don't look very good here. They are fabulous at night when all lightened up, but by daylight, not really Japan. I haven't been lucky with finding deco high-rises or mid-rises so far, but I'll search for Cities Skylines conversions. (You recognized your apartment building from São Paten, right? I use a few apartments from São Paten because of their off-white colors and concrete box '60s/70s aesthetics, they can fit into an Asian city nicely.)

I would definitely try to convert from Cities Skylines in order to create the midrises, as it's a lot of effort making shells!

Hehe, yes, I recognized it, and it's surrounded by high-rises just like that in RL. My only problem with theater-like or opera house-like lots in TS3 like this is that I can't figure out a useful function for them - because, apparently, they cannot be played as theaters - even with a Showtime stage, sims will never flock into the auditorium to sit down and watch. Did you build the Kabuki-za? And what do you use it for: decorative only or does it have a Sims-compatible function?

Flora; Sorry so late was on vacation
Yes, I built it ^^ I am using it as a rabbit hole movie theater. It has been really hard to find a way to make it filled...which I guess it can't ;_; Ah well, at least it's functioning.

I thought I had a quite good computer but the combo of Island Paradise and weather did not work out that well Oh well, I can still post some pics from the game I guess...

And here is a weather report for Isla Paradiso: Minus three degrees Celsius and heavy snowfall. And a couple of paparazzi's all around.

And how do we know who would go out in just her underwear to fight some uninvited guests? Just Asala Karam I guess. It's freezing cold out there but she just don't care...

Finished a Casino for Twinbrook, as the original Riverboat one was not working for me (I mean, it works, but did not fit into my world aesthetic)

Default Beach House
This was my first attempt at a beach house, and it was way outside my comfort zone. Not only because it was a beach house for one, which is very different from houses I design in general, but also because I loved how colorful Isla Paradisio was and I wanted to create a very colorful house as well. I'm not 100% on how I did on it. As well, the sims I was designing it for had different personalities from my normal sims, which is really why they're living in Isla Paradisio in the first place. Artemisia (a 3rd generation sim) is very athletic and fell in love with the beach, the windsurfing, the ocean, then men... haha. Well, here is the home I created for her, her husband, and her teenage stepdaughter. I had to post it now because they've got a baby on the way and some changes are going to have to be made, and I haven't decided what yet! (practically, I'll have to get rid of the dressing room, or add another floor onto the house, but I'm considering shipping the daughter off to boarding school just so I don't have to change this house!!! I really went all out with it, trying to create a little slice of paradise for my sims.

A postcard view of Oakshot-by-Riverview. Looking across the village green to the Old Rectory, and the half timbered Tudor style Manor House. To the right is the parish church of St Simia.

Oakshot is a self contained village I built on a more or less unused part of Riverview, using only my own houses. Here is an aerial view of the whole village...

The village green is a performance park, where the annual Oakshot Festival is held, and across the road is the Dog and Duck Inn. The lot to the left of the church consists of a book shop and a grocery store (using rabbithole rugs) and behind them is the village hall. To the far left, down by the river is Oakshot Mill, and just over the hill near the crossroads is Oakshot Priory, with the ancient Abbey ruins behind it.

A closer look at Oakshot Mill. It is currently used as a fishing spot, but could easily be converted for residential use. There are five families living in Oakshot, with room for two more.

Legend is history as we would like it to be. We pick through the dusts of time for what is worth keeping and, here and there, we occasionally find treasure.

My latest build: Suncatcher, modern two bedroom home built with glassy elements..

And two of my most favorite parts of the house, the semi indoor garden at the ground and the glass enclosed hallway at the second floor..

Default The Feild of Gold

Hard by Trelorne Castle is 'Field of Gold', where long ago Brian Pengarath smashed the armies of Kattala the witch queen, and where he was first proclaimed king. The Royal Pavilion was raised as a monument to that victory, and down through the centuries it is to this place that the kings and queens of Nantrelor come to receive the crown. It is now being prepared for the coronation of Queen Lucilla II.

The six banners (I am pretending) are the arms of the six Companion Knights who aided Brian in his victory. The flags above the arcade are the national flag of Nantrelor, the cross of St. Simlis.
The chair isn't the one that Lucy will sit on when she's crowned, that's just for the rehearsal: the actual throne is still at Brelor Castle and will only be brought hither on the big day.

Legend is history as we would like it to be. We pick through the dusts of time for what is worth keeping and, here and there, we occasionally find treasure.
