Default Graphics Card Help Needed
I should have not gone into my TS4 game, but I did and I now think my graphics card is making a noise, not all the time just when it starts up and a for a short while after its done loading, then it goes away. The best way I can describe the noise is this way: If anyone has seen the Star Trek TNG episode Schisms, there is a holodeck scene where they are trying to recreate the room they have been in and there is clicking sound in the scene. Well, the noise is something like that, cross between that clicking and a cricket chirping, or a cricket chirping, just something in that range of sounds. I think it could be coil whine but I'm not sure. Maybe somebody could tell me. What I was hoping I could do is switch out the graphics card for another one that would work with my PC and work well with The Sims games (all yeses for TS2 and TS3 and for TS4 minimum yeses up to Vampires or My First Pet stuff).

My current card is a AMD Radeon HD 6870, so I would like to stick with AMD. I do know about my OS, so no need to tell me about that and my Power supply wattage is 850w. My DxDiag is attached and I am hoping there is someone on here that is good with picking out graphics cards and knowing what PCs they work with. I should note my card works fine with TS2, works fine with TS3, with the exception of the conflict between my card and TS3 Seasons which started with the 1.55 patch, and is all yeses for TS4 up to Vampires, thou I do have 3 maybes (Laundry Day, Bowling and Toddler Stuff).

Hi,

If you ask at AHQ, in the technical section, there are players there that take enjoyment in searching for the, according to them, best set up for the budget specified, and applied gameplay. The recommendations from players are higher than the EA stated recommended specifications.

TS4 EA rec specs you'll find here:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical...6420780#M102196
and TS3:
https://www.origin.com/swe/en-us/st...on-requirements
I have no idea about TS2, quick search gave this, but it's minimum, not recommended:

Thank you for the suggestion about asking in the Technical Issues section on EA Answers. I will ask over there, so I have another place where I will be getting help from. Because of what did, I will be staying out of TS2 and TS3 as well until I get another graphics card. TS4, I will be staying out of that until I am able to get new PC, as my PC was built about 2 years before TS4 came out and a year before TS3 Into the Future. It was custom built so I know it's good for TS2 and TS3 for sure, my Dad made sure of that when he got it.
