I'm surprised so many people play for years...disfunctional? HAHA I guess I AM because I've been playing since Sims 1. When I first started playing I had just retired after 23 years as a social worker. I am still active, have lots of interests, and enjoy life... but I play almost every day, and can play 10 hours straight - not feeling that my body is hungry or cold.
Point is that for many people playing Sims stops being something they want or need to do...and that's OK. And for some of us, Sims fills various needs and we continue to "need" it ... and that's OK too.

I'm retired as well, and I'm well over the age of 60-people should never stop doing what they love. I don't play constantly but I play enough to keep the game fresh to me.

I need this game to distract me from the outside world with all of its' distractions. A few hours every day makes me happy.

In that thread it was actually two phantom disagreers, pianogrinder kinda joined later but I found it hilarious because they were the one who had the "strongest reaction" against it
This is not an attack on that person btw, sure it's immature behavior, but it's not that deep. If that's your humor, you do you won't be as fun now that it's not anonymous tho

I created extra challenge for myself. I can control only one sim in the household, like in the real life I only "control" me. So... Now that sim has twins, cat and a husband with two diseases, so I got the challenge. (The oldest daughter moved to university). Also, this is depressing situation. Adult man could not heal his own food poisoning and flu. I pretend that he has got a some long -term condition. I hope he would not die like the previous husband. (He worked out too much and ate too less.) For some weird reason, the parents of the main sim did not mess their lives like those husbands. But somehow I enjoy to play this chaos. Too bad, I play rotationally and need to wait a little bit now.

It is weird that at the start of sims gaming it was challence to keep your sims in live playing normally and now I need to make own rules for same.

I have discovered that simsample is extra nice and 'loves' most people's posts.

I've always tried to be nice, it's just that I made Sim Sample who is an asshole.

I've noticed there's one user who sometimes disagrees on the most seemingly random posts. I've not figured it out yet.

I blame him inviting Pescado to his parties. He's obviously teaching him bad habits!

That's one of the phantom disagreers. I did a search yesterday on that phrase, and they were one of the ones who was just pressing disagree a dozen times in a row.

We should all share our sim-selves, dump them in our games and tell each other what we got up to. Did one of us die??? Did one of us start a business??? Did one of us start dating everyone else???

I never know what to do with myself right after uploading a final TS2 project, especially a big one... and this might be my biggest one yet (as well as my biggest project of any sort since I finished my IRL master's thesis lol)!

Years ago, when I was moderating on this site, two of the staff members had a baby so we all made self-sims so that we could put a picture on a congratulatory card. So I made a sim-me complete with Rush t-shirt (the logo which is a man raging against a red star gained a plumbob ). I never played her at all, but years later when I revamped Lacuna D my daughter dared me to put her in. So I did, and she did all the things I haven't! Of course, because she was so wildly successful and happy in her sim life, she got awarded a genie lamp, so I must have wished for long life and completely forgotten about it. By the time she was an elder she was so smug and I was so heartily sick of her, that I couldn't wait for the reaper to take her. It took SEVEN DAYS for the reaper to defeat her at that guessing game! At the rate I play (one day per rotation, and there are about 20 families in rotation... sometimes it was weeks of real life before I got back to her ) it took so long... every time I loaded up the game I was thinking 'I hope the reaper wins...'. Of course she was always having a party and all of her friends were always so sad when grim arrived and then the party carried on when she won. I hated her!


Sim Sample never cried until she survived! (I trained him well)


So the moral of the story is, think very carefully before you do this, as you could be absolutely sick to death of seeing your self-sim have such a great career and such beautiful children, and being so rich that they have six holiday homes and a mansion! (Especially if they live forever in someone's game with aging off so then you'll have to see pictures of them forever more on MTS )

I have a sim self (and yes, she's available for download.) and I did put her into a neighborhood, but it was such an existential crisis watching her have such a good life that I dumped that neighborhood.

Shacking up and having sex with Don Lothario or Buzz Grunt should be left in the realm of fantasy and the game.

I have one too, but it's not very close to how I look.

After all that effort you should make yourself some Hogwarts sims and play the lot!
