Default Mesh messed up?
Okay, well I was working on a mermaid mesh and it was coming out great, so I decided to test out the basic mesh without the retexturing and everything, and it came out with sasquatch hands and... I'll just show a picture. Is it something with the bones? I didn't delete and vertices or anything. It just came out funky in the game.

Teen or adult?
Almost looks like you used adult meshcomments for a teenoutfit

It was an adult. But I was only testing the mesh without the bones and whatsoever. And I didn't do anything to the comments.

Nope. It comes out fine in CTU but when I look at it in TS3 and TSRW it's all demorphed and such.

With program did you use(CTU or TSRW)?
Keep in mind you can not use CTU meshes in TSRW and vice versa.
If you didn't make new morphs for it looks indeed terrible when using the sliders but shouldn't look like that.

I used a CTU mesh but in TSRW you are able to see what it would look like in the game. And I turned down all of the sliders and that's the picture with them.

You moved the whole mesh up in Milkshape, thats not possible....
The upperbody should stay in place so it matches the head.
This means the tail will be partly into the floor but if you like ill make a slider to correct that

Edit,
You also should use a diffrent setup
*clone and extract the nude top meshes.(or watever top you want to use)
Use the formal afBodyDressTight_halter to start with in TSRW
Later on you load the nude top in the first meshgroup

In Milkshape you import the nude top(and morphs)
Import the tail and attache it to the base mesh, do NOT regroup it with the base mesh!!
When done duplicate the tail and scale it so it fits the fatmorph
Duplicate it again for the thin, and the fit

When done delete all the top meshes
export the tails and load these in the 2nd meshgroup of the afbodydresstight_halter
Load the nude top in the first meshgroup

See if you can manage to do that
If you get the hang of it repeat all the same step for the lower detail meshes

i was just thinking...
Why not make it a bottom so you can combine it with various tops?
btw, is this Marvine's mermaid tail?

Hey, i know this probably isn't the proper forum, but since you guys seem to know about this, could either of you tell me exactly what programs i need to use to be able to do this with? I'd really like to start getting into creating custom clothes and body shapes.

At this point: CTU/BMM/Milkshape/s3PE or Postal
Have a look in the tutorial section

I prefer TSRW but it has a skintone bug so you can not use it for this sort of clothing( tops or bottoms were the belly skin shows)
@ trillmill, i forgot about the skintone problems when using TSRW
Ill test if the problem is also there when making it a fullbody

Ok. I'm going to try to make a tail in tsrw, just because it seems more simplistic. lol. But, i'll probably work out the bug by giving the stomach area a skintone, but just not one that can be darkened or lightened in CAS.

It's not Marvines and yes. Ill do that but I don't want people putting t shirts on it. I just want it with swimming tops or something.

I might ask Marvine's permission to upload the file.
Would be cool to have diffrent mermaids like the one from Fawkes and maybe yours

I fixed the in game problem. Now it only shows messed up in the CAS but in game it's fine and bounces around. All I need to do is some minor meshing around an textures and new morphs. I restarted and made a new tail Thursday.

EDIT: I also need to hide the shoes. But I don't know how to do that.
