What "addons" are you referring to ?

All mods are Patch-Level specific, so it does not actually matter if you have a particular Pack installed, only that you are up-to-date Patch-wise.

From the Preparing for the Next Patch or Expansion FAQ:

Quote:
You should remove ALL of your hacks before you install, shifting them somewhere else on your computer... like a new folder called "Backed Up Hacks" in My Documents or on your desktop, for instance.

You will need to check with the individual creators of your hacks to see if the hacks will be compatible with your new expansion. Sometimes certain simple, basic little hacks will be okay, but anything but the most basic hacks will generally need some updating to be made compatible with the code for the new expansion. This especially applies to ones like The AwesomeMod and the SuperComputer/StoryProgression, which are never compatible with new expansions until updated.

So the answer is that you should never assume a game modification will work with a new patch or EP. It is best to check with the creator to see if it is compatible.

For tuning mods, if their creator is not around to verify their compatibility, you can do so yourself : http://nonasims.wordpress.com/2012/...-to-be-updated/

How do I update them exactly?

Just to be clear, the link Twallan provided is to check compatibility of the mod, not to update any incompatible mods.

How to update a specific mod depends entirely on the mod you want to update. That topic is outside the scope of the Discussion forums. If you've verified that your mods are incompatible with a new patch or EP and want to take on the task of updating them yourself, please visit the Create forums. There are tutorials for modding available, as well as a Q&A forum. (Please be aware that the question "how do I update this mod exactly?" is likely to receive a lukewarm response there unless you can show that you have attempted/are making an attempt to understand the modding tutorials.)
