Why does it look like this when i turn on stdMatEnvCubeMode reflection?

Does look somewhat like there's an unwrapping issue, and probably something going on in the TXMT, but it's just a lot of guesswork at this point.

Can you share the file?

sure, it's a recolor of delonariel's grieving fairy 3t2 statue

the recolor

i'm on the newer side of object recoloring, but have a decent grasp of using simpe. i can follow written instructions/explanations fairly well.

1: You need to remove the space before "stdMatEnvCubeTextureName"
2: You may have to add "reflectionsilver-envcube" in the File List tab.

dratted spaces! that's not the first time adding a space has messed me up

that completely fixed the problem thank you VERY much! now to go mess with the reflectivity settings, bc whoa!
