Also, for the education carrer track that I posted, a uniform for Levels 1-3 could be just their normal clothes. But as they progress to Levels 4+ they would need to wear a suit. Women could have those cute skirt-suits.

If you do choose to do the education track and figure out how to do opportunities, I could help with thinking of them!
(My mom works at a school district, so that's why I thought of this. It would work SO well for my simself&family that I have set to make.)

My mom works at one too! I'm sure she has all kinds of things to add for opportunities. Like staying after school to grade papers? Or those silly meetings they have all the time.

Grading papers could be something they have to do everynight, like how doctors have to read those medicial journals?

Civil Aviation

This skill would depend on the Mechanical skill, with some Athletic and Logic too. The flight crew occasionally have long work days. Can a work day be more than 24 hours?

1: Lost-and-found clerk Mon-Fri, 12:00-18:00
Ah - the glamorous atmosphere at the airport! However, neither broken and mis-delivered suitcases, nor the disgruntled passengers, are not the best company.

2: Check-in clerk Mon-Fri, 6:00-13:00
The check-in desk is the most stressed out place at the airport. Keep the pace up, so you can take off with the passengers some day!

3: Flight attendant Tue, Thu, Sat, 6:00-18:00
Coffee, tea, hot towels? Most passengers misunderstand you as a waiter. However, you are responsible for their safety, should anything happen.

4: Purser Tue, Sat, 6:00-21:00
As the most senior member of the cabin crew, you have to deal with all difficulties - airsick passengers, fights or air bump panics. As if that were not enough, you have been re-scheduled to a long-range flight, making workdays even longer. Be sure to get a good night of sleep before you get out!

5: Air traffic controller Mon-Thu 7:00-13:00
Back on the ground to earn your flight certificate. In the meantime you to direct the aircraft through the airspace.

6: Charter pilot Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat, 10:00-18:00
In the cockpit at last! But with no regular employer, you have to rely on rock bands, special freight orders and cropdusting for your bread and butter. And you must do much of the ground service yourself!

7: Second officer Tue, Thu, Sat, 6:00-18:00
You are hired by an airline again, to do regular traffic. The hours are longer, but the job is much cleaner.

8: Pilot in command Tue, Thu, Sat, 6:00-18:00
More stress, but bigger paychecks. Another advantage is free dead-head flights wherever you want to go.

9: Inter-continental pilot Tue 10:00 - Wed 20:00
Now you take the really long flights - to the other side of the world, and back again. Kiss your loved ones goodbye before you leave, because you will stay away overnight every time.

10: Senior Aviation Advisor Mon-Thu, 9:00-16:00
After flying around the world several times, you get the job to inspect business lounges, destination hotels, duty-free shopping goods and in-flight entertainment. But you are never late to get a seat in the cockpit again, should you have the opportunity.

Besides; the military branch is internally named AirForce.

However, if you add 5 levels to the start; I could possibly make an Army career.

Sorry, It was late and I had only skimmed through the thread. Here we go.
You need less skills at beginning because at the end you'll be maxing out 3.

Level 1- Private

Skills- 2 Athletic

Buzz cuts and boot camp. I don't know but I've been told, scrubbing latrines gets mighty old. Better maintain prime physical shape to advance from the trenches. Not only will you be stronger, but your uniform will look even better on you than it does now.

Level 2- Specialist

Skills- 4 Athletic, 1 Logic

That college education brings you more prestige, and as an added incentive you will be earning more pay. But you're still a soldier so physical skills are important, get your body pumped up and strong.

Level 3- Corporal

Skills- 5 Athletic, 1 Logic, 2 Charisma

As a Corporal, you’ll start drawing salutes from the underlings. It also means your superiors expect more out of you and your squad. Train hard, inspire the troops and make sure your superiors doesn't make too many mistakes.

Level 4- Sergeant

Skills- 6 Athletic, 1 Logic, 3 Charisma

Somebody has to shout at those troops and straighten out the officers. There's a pay grade advance here, but earning your stripes will require additional training back at the base. Charisma skill is a must and body skill is not far behind.

Level 5- Sergeant Major of the Army

Skills- 6 Athletic, 1 Logic, 4 Charisma

Your great leadership accomplishments have brought you to the post of Sergeant Major of the Army. No more dodging bullets and crawling under barbed wire, you speak straight to the brass. But don't get all soft and flabby because it's been whispered that you're being considered as a potential candidate for officer position. You'll have to show exceptional body skills to get that honor. But don't forget that Logic skill!

Level 6- Lieutenant

Skills- 7 Athletic, 4 Logic, 5 Charisma

Officer status brings new stripes and new responsibilities. Your men need to know you can handle a battle, whereas the brass up top still want your mind in tip-top shape. You just might be writing checks your body can’t cash, Lieutenant

Level 7- Captain

Skills- 9 Athletic, 6 Logic, 6 Charisma

The entire company looks up to you, respects your judgment, and trusts you to bring them home safely. You’ve been promoted to Captain in the hopes you’ll continue this work, improve efficiency, and turn the men and women of your company into the best in the world.

Level 8- Major

Skills- 10 Athletic, 8 Logic, 8 Charisma

The extensive work in the field has paid off and you’ve been rewarded with top-of-the-line military unit, your name at it's helm, and your own men to look after you. The military life is getting more exciting every day, but with that excitement comes danger and the unknown. Watch your six up there!

Level 9- General

Skills- 10 Athletic, 10 Logic, 10 Charisma

You can execute the military procedures better than any of the officers in the army. In fact, there isn’t a maneuver you cannot execute. The brass want to bring you in as a General to spread the victory, impress the public with demonstrations, and fight for the good of the people.

Level 10- General of the Army

Without Peer [Sim Name] is in charge.
The arms race is on and you’re the top contender. You’re the best, the brightest, and the only Sim who can lead our great society to the unknown depths of war. . You’re a hero!

Hmmm.....

2rki3i that sounds a lot like the text for my careers mod that you can download that changes the text of the military branch. Looks like just a few of the words have been re-arranged. Say, did you use my mod for "inspiration" at all?

Nope, I just looked on the wiki page for the text from the Sims 2&3 careers (Link: http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Military) and changed words so that they made sense. Did you use them too?

The rescue one looks good. Just a tiny hitch though, firefighters wear SCBA, not SCUBA. They are Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, but not for Underwater use Technically I have seen it used once underwater in a rescue though but not very well...

This career should be placed in the Law Enforcement rabbithole, although the Military might also be possible. It will add to the game a second option for this rabbithole, and IMO at least, a cool top level job. Who among us players does not secretly wish to have this level 10 job in real life? (If I should have typed 'lol' here, well okay, now I typed it, but c'mon everyone, be honest.)

Skills required would be athletic, logic, some cleaning for the early career, possibly charisma?

Career: Black Ops

Level 1: Ops Rookie

Level 2: Spy Cam Operator

Level 3: Commando
You are now gaining that hands-on experience every operative requires, taking on the toughest jobs both at home and abroad. Your squad members think you are one of them; they are wrong.

Level 4: Cleaner
A difficult task requires a specialist, sometimes things get out of hand. Your experience, skill and insight qualify you to fix the messes your colleagues often leave behind.

Level 5: Local SBI agent
As the agent in charge at your local office of the Sims Bureau of Investigation you will watch over your neighborhood with the eagle eye you have honed; gathering intel, investigating suspicious activity, assisting the police whenever necessary.

Level 6: Foreign Infiltrator
You are now on alien soil, blah blah (I can write this later)

Level 7: Ghostbuster
You are called back home: an occurence has been increasing and must be investigated, analyzed; plan of action plotted and implemented. Few can do the job, but you are one among the few: Ghostbuster. (If technically possible, this job level should require visits to the cemetary to meet ghosts in order to advance to level 8, or else 3 or 4 ghost acquaintances or something similar. Work uniform obvious, a Ghostbusters t-shirt is available at the site in my sig, stencil can probably be placed on a white jumpsuit by request, or someone here can volunteer to create the suit.)

Level 8:

Level 9: SETI Advisor

Level 10: Sim in Black
You have reached the top of the food chain, reigning over your fellow sims without their ever knowing. You protect the neighborhood, you control the airwaves, you countermand the military, you break the rules, you confine the anomalies, you are now...Sim in Black!

As concerns the work options menu, I suggest it can be lifted directly from the Medical career; only 'Chat with medical personnel', the build relationship with co-workers bit, must have a different text. 'Chat with strange colleagues'? (alluding to level 10 job and aliens in the movies). Books can be lifted from the other careers to give job performance boost. I suggest from Law Enforcement, "How not to be Seen" and from Science, "Advanced Deniability Procedures". To reach level 10 job, possibly learning of the Ambrosia recipe required.
I can add in the missing parts later if needed, if career is accepted.

MedievalMods and Sims3mods: Dive Cave Reset Fix, Resort Revamp, Industrial Oven Revamp, Will O' Wisp fix, UI Sounds Disabled, No Cars, Gnome Family Planner, Townies Out on the Town, No Martial Arts Clothes, Fast Skilling, etc. http://simsasylum.com/tfm/

-resist urge to say porn star-

There was one career I really liked and that was the Paranormal track in the Sims 1. Your sim started out as a Psychic Phone Line Operator and slowly worked up the ranks until you were communicating with the 'Big Purple Genie of Uncertain Demise' (This is what I've named him, yes) and causing all sorts of crazy crap.

The levels could be
-Circus Gypsy
-Palm Reader
-Psychic Phone Line Operator
-Fill in the blank
-Fill in the blank

-Branch One: Dealing With the Supernatural
-Graveyard Lurker
-Paranormal Investigator
-Fill in the Blank
-Fill in the Blank
-Ghost Whisperer

Branch Two: Mind over Matter
-Spoon Bender
-Magician
-Fill in the Blank
-Fill in the Blank
-Telekenetic

The job would require high levels of logic and charisma.

The Supernatural branch would perhaps require several visits to the graveyard, ____ number of friends who are ghosts, exploring the mausoleum regularly

The magician branch would maybe require minimal points in athleticism, cause you know, you have to look good for your audiences, a few points in mechanics, cause you have to know how the stage machines work, a good relationship with your assistant, and a certain amount of popularity, to ensure people go to your shows.

Of course all of this may not be possible if they ever decide to bring back the 'Makin Magic' EP (wishful thinking, that one was my favorite =/)

I would love to see a Superhero career. It could be located either at the Police Station or the Science Facility, what with all those radioactive cowplants giving powers to every lab assistant that gets too close. There is a Master of Evil career, it would be nice to have someone to keep us safe when the leader of free world is not around :D

Default Psychology
Career Name: Clinical Psychiatry
Location: Hospital
Focused Skills: Charisma, Logic
Career Picture: Brain

Why: The mind needs treating too! Would make things more interesting if there are more doctors running around town. With Evil and Kelptomanic sims, you have the Police Department to counter them, seems fitting to have such a career to counter-act the.. mentally unstable sims.

Other function: Gives sims with certain personality traits (Insane, Inappropriate, Evil etc) to change one for a hefty sum of cash when clicking on the hospital. Mental characteristics only, nothing relating to skills.

Job related skills:
Social: Analyse (Prudish Sims will not like this) Learn everything about them.
Rude: Insult (becomes more potent, Psychologist Sims can target insecurites more)
Social: Comfort

Job Related items: Psychiatrist's Sofa. Very comforting and gives energy and increases mood.

Initial Job description: The oppotunity to delve into the depths of a Sim's psyche with added paid benefits. The Lab Scientists may laugh at you, but the oppotunity to understand people awaits!

Stage 1: Research Participant
Stage 2: Social Worker
Stage 3: Career Counciller
Stage 4: Relationship Counciller
Stage 5: Psychiatric Nurse

Clinical Branch

Stage 6a: Psychiatric Intern
Stage 7a: CBT Therapist (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
Stage 8a: Radio Psychiatrist
Stage 9a: Clinical Psychiatrist
Stage 10a: Psychotherapist (Shrink)

Research Branch

Stage 6b: Psychology Teacher
Stage 7b: University Lecturer
Stage 8b: Research Assistant
Stage 9b: Research Psychologist
Stage 10b: Professor of Psychology

Career Oppotunity (Psychiatric)

[Name] has an irrational fear of llamas, find [him/her] and convince [first name] to over come it.

Reward: Money and Improved Relationship

Career Oppotunity (Research)

There's a choice between two new trial drugs for a puzzeling condition, but which one would [Name] choose?

[Llamatorgine] [Essence of Deathfish]

Llamatrogine: "It all seemed well at first, but then subject #13 believed he was a Llama and has now ran away to the mountains! [Name]'s performance has dropped and so has the relationship with [his/her] boss!"

Deathfish: "Despite the sinister name, the drug was successful! The company can now market it and has given a 100,000 simoleon grant to the department! [Name]'s boss is so pleased, [Name] has recieved a raise!"

PM me, and I can probably think up some individual career description and more oppotunities. Transport is the same as medical career.

Also working on a legal career.

Then we have all the needs for the HISTORICAL sims hoods - I can see replacement careers for the ones already there, and some good extra ones.
Replacements OR Extra Careers - I could start working on these. (The descriptions) Would include a farmer career as well as a fisherman. I also like the part time ones, they are good to combine with other stuff, like the Spa could be a barbershop.. so many possibilities! If the uniforms could be kept civil, it's probably easier to adjust them to the theme of your hood.
And yes - a church career, placed at the graveyard.

Energy career

Why? The Sims lacks blue-collar industrial jobs. All SimCity players know that each large city needs at least one power plant. And these plants need workers. Inspiration can be taken from The Simpsons.

This career includes night shifts, as well as drops in hygiene and social. The pay would be better than most other jobs, though. Necessary skills are Handiness, Logic and Cooking. (Cooking is all about chemical reactions and boiling water, just as energy production.) Relationship with the boss are less important. The career could probably be placed in the Science building.

At work, Sims should have the option to practice Handiness.

1: Waste sorter, Mon-Fri, 9:00-16:00
What Sims throw in the waste container does not disappear. It ends up at the power plant, where you sort out stuff that should not be burnt. And that is a lot of stuff. Be sure to have a good shower at home.

Award: Trash can

2: Red warning lamp watchman, Sat-Tue, 0:00-8:00
Lots of things can go wrong at a power plant. Stay awake through night, so the city can sleep well.

Award: Smoke detector

3: Stoker, Wed-Sat, 16:00-0:00
Your new job is keeping the fire burning, by getting waste, wood, coal, oil or whatever the manager wants to call "fuel" into the boiler, and getting the ashes out.

4: Loader driver, Sun-Wed, 16:00-0:00
At last you get a service vehicle with hundreds of horsepowers! Unfortunately, it is just a slow, noisy tractor with a large bucket at the front. You can't take your family or your date for a ride, but you can take your job one level above the plant floor.

5: Field repairman (The NPC repairman's job), Thu-Sun, 9:00-16:00
Electric and plumbing equipment breaks now and then, in the power plant as well as in people's homes. You tour the town mending broken stuff. But not for free...

6: Shift manager, Mon-Thu, 0:00-8:00
Keeping the team awake through the graveyard shift is not easy. But if you don't screw up, you will get a permanent re-schedule to business hours.

Award: Cheap fireplace

7: Site manager, Mon-Fri, 9:00-16:00
At last, you are in charge! But as you see the dark smokestack rising towards the sky, and the dead lawns around the power plant, you realize that this city needs a better power source.

Award: Lower power cost at home

8: Renewable energy researcher, Mon-Fri, 9:00-17:00
Bio-fuel? Solar panels? Windmills? Lots of alternatives - but which is the best? You'd better ask the board of directors for more money.

Award: Expensive fireplace

9: Power Plant Planner, Mon-Fri, 9:00-17:00
The country wants more and cleaner energy, and you are in charge of designing a new power station. Can you make both the environmentalists and the industrial lobbyists happy?

10: Cool fusion expert, Mon-Thu, 10:00-15:00
You have found the solution to the energy crisis! A major power company has bought the patents, given you a generous pension, and dismissed you from further research. Now you mostly spend your days teaching schoolkids to turn off lamps and pre-sort trash.

Opportunities
* Dirty secrets: Rummage through some neighbors' garbage (to scan for hazardous materials)
* Turn the heat on: Cook different meals at the stove (to compare power consumption)
* Bio-fuel experiment: Grow different plant species in your garden (to examine their suitability for energy extraction)
* Fish gotta swim: Catch fish (to measure levels of water pollution from power plant)

This is genius! Once opportunities are possible THIS career should be made.

On another note, because of the limitations of XML editing, does this mean that the user will have to merge every two career files?
