good new brows!!

the lips and chin/jaw are good.

It's the eyes that aren't the right shape yet. His eyes are more squinty and rounder on top and bottom.

Very very good start though!!

Aaaargh, his eyes are killing me. I hate EA with a passion. Why can't we make the outside of the eyes go to a point when they are in a straight position. I have spent an hour on his eyes alone. I don't think he is there. I need new pairs of eyes to look at him.

I think I have ruined his jawline now. I hate this sim.

Daluved, I have absolutely no idea, how to do a texture edit. I don't think his eyes are good enough to even bother with it. What do you think?

I think the chin is a little too big.

His lower lip needs to be thicker and less wide. Recolor his hair so it's not too red.

Doing good so far.

Made those few little changes, but he needs his eyebrows wider or it really just looks like a good-looking sim guy. Npw his face looks too long, but I haven't touched the length, it is just the angle of the pic in the game.

don't despair! He's looking really good.. your hard work is paying off!!

His mouth is great I don't actually know the actor so I can't really say if you've captured his essense so to say, but I think they likeness to the photo is very good.

Again, it's the eyes that aren't quite right... and I wholeheartedly sympathise with you!! Indeedm, EA really didn't give us good stuff to work with. Pfff.

I agree that maybe finding him different hair would be a good idea.. something that covers his forhead a bit more like in the original photo.

Audrey---I think he's too old. He looks much more mature than the real guy. He's from Gossip Girl, right? When you look at the side-by-side you can see a resemblance but looking at him alone I don't get the Chase Crawford vibe, you know what I mean? He's a great start, though. Something I noticed is that it looks like his cheeks are too full or something. His chin needs to be a bit longer, but maybe a tad less wide, and his jaw needs to be less wide just SLIGHTLY. You can see the top part of his head is supposed to be wider than the lower part. His face is too long as well, his jaw needs to come up and then you need to adjust the chin/mouth placement. I think it's the jaw that's making his face look too full. The nose bulb needs to be larger slightly, and the nostrils a tad taller. You may also want to try a different skin replacement for this particular sim, because this one puts too much emphasis on the bridge of the nose, which is making it look too skinny and defined. The eye apex is off as well, it shouldn't be so close to the inside of his eyes, I'd move it out slightly. Also, the eye color is too saturated and needs more green added to it. It's too much of a crayola blue, you know what I mean? I think the mouth may be a tiny smidgen too wide, but I can't tell. He needs more dimension to his hair color, it's too flat and dark. I think of him as a blond...a dark blond, but blond nonetheless. There is too much red in the color. I also think there exists a better hair for him...let me see what I can find. I haven't started my game up in quite a while, so I can't remember much about the hairs I have.

It's a great start, though! So just keep tweaking!

Thanks Nyn. I know you get my drift.

Hey SWC, nice to see you posting again. My goodness, I've got a lot of work to do on him. I have just about every male hair every made and that is the best on him, so good luck finding something better.

I don't think the hair is going to make any difference to the fact that I am unhappy about his eyes - the fact that they won't go to a point in the far corners really irks me.

The person who requested him obviously doesn't think much of him as she hasn't come back to comment. That's the last time I do requests.

Anyway, have you got feedback for me on Mr Obama?

I think one of these hairs would actually be better, one of which came with the base game.

Ooh, nice sim, maybe you should make him. I know the first one is in the game, but the other two are not. I will have a look and see if I have it.

I'll post better pics of the other two hairs so you can see their whole shape, give me a sec'...

And nah, I got too many other celeb sim to worry about on my plate. This is just an "other" sim I made. I might upload him after I come up with some story for him and an outfit or two, lol...he's wearing plaid pants.

EDIT:

Okay, here are the pics.

Oh yeah, and to clarify the above, he's an other sim I had in my bin&under construction and then I did some tweaks to make his basic face shape resemble the dude you're doing so you can have a better idea of how the hair would look on your sim. He didn't look exactly as he does now before 20 minutes ago, sry, I made it seem like he did in my first post!

Which eye shape did you use for the second dude?. That is just the shape I am looking for. Your pictures are so clear. I am using an Invidia 9600 256 bit, what are you using to get them so crystal clear.

Here's a pic to show varying light sources and how they affect your sim. Maybe that's the clarity issue? Also...the eye shape? Second dude? It's all the same exact sim, he's just making a face in some of the pictures so it makes his eyes look more open or more closed.

Okay, so this shows the sim with the corresponding light source placement. The first image is where he's directly lined up with the light source. The middle he's half a square back and the far right one is a whole square back behind the light. You can see how it affects the quality of the image, as well as the appearance of his facial structure. The light in the game can both be a burden and be used to your advantage at the same time. It just takes a bit to get used to it. Is this the issue you're having? I'd check your in-game graphics, also how do you take your screens?

If you want me to adjust his brows, I'll need you to send the sim to custom fit them

Thanks Dal, can you PM your e-mail addy. I took a look at your tutorial and it boggled my mind, LOL. What is a plug-in and how does it 'plug-in'.

SWC, What lights are you using? Floor, wall, ceiling?

In the image I posted it's just a ceiling lamp. But I often use a combination of varying types of lights to get the right one. It depends on if I'm making a celeb sim or an "other" sim. Other sims you can just set the lighting up however you think looks nice, but celeb sims I often try to mimic the lighting my source pic has, which can sometimes mean a lot of different kind of lights in crazy positions.

Dal, that's perfect. I'm in no hurry as long as jerome isn't.

Thanks SWC. What's your verdict on dear Chase? I tried to do all your suggestions.

SWC, here is my lighting studio. Next to the chair, I have two standing lamps, the ones you can see through.

Oh, that's too much lighting, that's why. it flattens your sim out if you have too much. You need to play with the lights AND shadows. I'll post a pic of a lighting that's helped me.

This is the lighting I've been using for Christie, as well as some "other" sims. It really just depends on what you're working on whether or not it'll be usable to you or not. But it's just the standard hanging lights, in the mosquito lane or w/e lot in the default neighborhood, on the second floor. I deleted all the windows and the door to the bathroom. I also delete the staircase and the fence and fill the floor in and then change the wall covering and floor tiling depending on my project. I don't know if it'll work for you, but hopefully this helps.

Here, this is to clarify a few on the spots, due to the angle, where the light centers upon.
