Also, re the hobbit homes, you can use a little of both as if I remember right the books say that mainly the older and most respectable families (even including the Tooks) still live in the full hobbit-holes with many of the younger hobbits living in either half-hill homes (like #2) or even houses, though still with the round doors and windows.
And gotta say, you're working on Rohan next? :lovestruc

Are you aware of how to make foundation basements (basements made without the basement tools in foundations)? Perhaps they would be helpful for the hobbit ones, like if you make a big one. They're fairly easy to learn how to do if you don't know already. I just prefer them if the house is a decent size, since you get extra room without an extra floor, and you get the illusion of less floors without having to go into the dark basements created with the basement tool.

I must say, this is beautiful. I am a fan of The Lord of the Rings and I would really like to use something like this in my game at some point. There is a lot detail so far! Good job!

I love the craggy hills and job you've done painting them. Beautiful.

oh wow, the scenery looks just like New Zealand and it's scenery I see everyday so I only have to take a short trip down the road to the Misty Mountains in the distance The nearest LOTR movie set to where I live is where they filmed the kingdom of Rohan, and it's quite beautiful.

@Crowkeeper, that build set is huge fun to use, I hope you get a chance to do so

Lucky you! All I see from my window is building as far as the eye can see ;-) Thank you so much for the nice comment, and it would be great if Crowkeeper could contribute. I love all the houses made so far from Crowkeeper! :D

Or if you are up for it @Crowkeeper, I do have "The Great Forests" which is a large forest surrounding Rivendell and a piece of untouched landscape. I thought it would be cool to have some Forest / Tree elf houses placed around the forest :-) For the world I have used a small amount of CC, Base Game, Pets, World Adventures and Supernatural :-)

Sure! These are so fantastic, you have no idea how well they suit into the great woods :-)

Which lot sizes do you use? Currently there's only a few community lots in the forest so I should have a lot of space left! But smaller lots are always nice to play, but medium and large are great too :-)
If you are up for it, for the forest, I thought maybe 5-7 lots? Would that be all right? Of course I will give all credits to you as creator of these buildings, and if you want to do less, that is entirely all right :-) You are also most welcome to create houses on the ground as well! These are wood elfs after all ;-)

I will be posting the place for the houses in a minute

This is gorgeous, a great job! I absolutely love the mystic atmosphere of the whole world, and I love the diversity of the lots and the landscapes too
And it's needless to say that Crowkeeper's lots are... just wow.

I'd only point out one little thing, the redwoods in the last pictures look like they're floating. I'd sink the trunk into the ground a bit. I'd also add some additional textures for the forest ground The rest is perfect, keep it up!

Ooh you are right! I am going into CAW as we speak to "pull" the trees more into the ground. If that made sense? Would you happen to have any recommendations for the texture to the forest ground? Currently the terrain paint is the same as the rest of the world, and I think it needs something a tad more "dark" to make the redwoods look more natural. I am so happy for your constructive ideas, it's all about the details

Yes, perhaps a with darker shade the contrast between the trees and the grass would look more natural. Personally I prefer darker tones as the base grass in worlds, but that's just my taste I'd add a second grass texture (lighter that the base texture you use) to highlight the terrain on the hills and other areas. And in the forest I'd add some dirt under the trees, around the big rocks, etc. Just try different options and choose the one that looks the best for you, you already have a great base to start from

Crowkeeper, you nailed it! It's like you've already played my Middle earth, I mean.. It's exactly the atmosphere I am going for
It would be very cool if you did an alchemy shop! I don't have one, and the thought that your simmer would have to travel deep into the woods to get their magic potions is very ideal! I like the small pond / river underneath the trees. I think elfs likes all of nature including the water elements.

Well done! I can see you've built quite a lot! How many lots are you at? Oh and the interior. Don't get me started on the interior :lovestruc

Thank you dear! When you zoom in it is actually "flying spirits" or winged orbs in different colors. They move around in a group of four.
Maybe adding one in one of your lots would be nice too? I think they give a certain feel of magic I don't remember how I got them except from it's through the ambitions globe that lets you create effects. I am not using Ambitions for the world though

I still have only three, I will finish them first, send them to you (so that you can try if they are suitable for your world) and then I will make more

I just installed them, and they fit in perfectly! I think it will look even better once I get the forests' terrain done (It will be more dark green) Thank you thank you thank you so much for this :lovestruc
Also I figured maybe 6 lots instead of 7 would be better in total? Of course just as long as you are having fun making these! If it is of any interest, I also decided to use some fantasy trees by Luna here http://socialsims.net/finds/fantasy...a-sims-lulamai/ - Those are very tall and thick trees which is perfect for more tree homes though you already hit the nail on that one And I really like the trees you are using as is

Here is some in game pictures of your lot in Middle Earth:
