Love how you/Noel connected everyone in town step by step!
As for spoilers, you type like this:
[sspoiler]your text and images that you want to hide[/spoiler]
Only one "s" in the first bracket, I just included that extra letter so that the forum software shows the code instead of turning it into a hidden spoiler.

Week 3 has been added.
mama_tex, I have to say the same as Enki - I really like the way you used your imagination to turn this challenge into a great story.
That's an interesting question... Somehow Johnny has always appeared to me as a somewhat tragic figure, in spite of all this efforts to be a comedian. I could picture him as the result of an affair Geoffrey had a long time ago, but that's just my imagination running wild.

Sorry for off-topic, but where do you put him on the Landgraab family tree? The Johnny in my main save is Malcolm's second cousin, but I'm undecided on whether he share's Nancy's or Geoff's blood. |

Oh mama_tex, what a sad end to a week that seemed to be going so well! The rummage sale was another great idea! I don't know where you guys get all these ideas, but it sure is fun to read what you come up with each time. I'm still laughing at "I think they have a simplistic charm to them". Yes, those paintings indeed do! :D

Yeah I haven't started the next bit yet-not sure how Noel is suppose to get back in the holiday spirit.

Do you have Kana's gravestone? Perhaps she appears as a spirit. I mean, it wouldn't be realistic and death is always terrible, even with the proof that the soul survives, but it would at least be some comfort. Something to build on.

Challenge score round 3: 17/20
Overall score is 61/90 now.
Story
So here I was, with another task at hand and a shadowy activist group on my heels. Not long after I went home, my new friends came calling, inquirering about
my progress. My answer was short: "I made a blog."
"And...?" Johnny prodded.
"Nothing. What else could I do? All the information about the festival is on there."
Johnny repeatedly bumped his palm against his forehead as if I'd said something stupid.
"You have to keep it fresh!" he eventually said. "Post updates, share anecdotes from previous festivals, perhaps some history of snowflake day, too. Add personal musings, a meme or two... Really, man, don't you call yourself a writer?"
"Tha's right", I mumbled through clenched teeth. "That's what I call myself, doesn't mean I AM one."
There was the mind-numbing knowledge that my snowflake day shortstories only sold because the buyers wanted to assist my cause, not because the tales were any good.
Again Johnny asked: "And...?"
"Oh, that! The performers! I was thinking you and Linda... Lisa... that Huppertz girl from the neighborhood."
"Nah, I´m booked and Ms. Huppertz is visiting her ex and daughter in Newcrest. But don't worry, I have already found replacements for you."
"Ah, well, then."
"They'll arrive tomorrow, so you better prepare some guest beds, Enki."
"What - here? In my house?! Are you nuts?"
Before I could work myself up to the better swearwords and insults, Johnny waved about his hand. Calmly he informed me that I not only had to house some parties, but that it would be best if the performers lived under my roof, too. I was this close to asking Johnny if he'd perhaps want to sabotage my efforts by driving me insane.
Viviane and Geoff sang the same tune and the three of them deemed me worse than that Anti-Humbug group that moment.
It slowly dawned to me that Snowflake day meant as much to my friends as it did to me, but in an altogether different way!
Vivane put it into a simple formula that day: "It´s the people´s festival, Enki, so you must actually bring them together."
And so Julie and Aerith moved in, both very good-looking women, as my mother commented when I phoned her that week. The fact that I was living with not just one, but two girls now served to cheer up my family. They already pictured me married with one, cheating on her with the other, getting divorced and re-married. You know I love them, but the innuendeo was infuriating.
"Yes, I' sooo ready for partnerin up now that I seduced the barkeeper lady who could have been your mom!" I yelled, then hung up.
It was time to get to work.
Accomplishments & Pics
Followers: 69 = 2 pts.
I almost quit this, as the comments were rather mean.
Performers Skill Points: Julie Piano 8, Aerith Violin 9 = 10 pts.
Since Johnny and Laura were both quite skilled already, I instead created two new sims in CAS to move in with my sim: Aerith (violin) and Julie (piano). Befriended them the first day in and made them practice every day under the influence of an inspired decor.
The girls were really motivated and sometimes even went for the instruments autonomously.
3 Silver & 1 Gold Parties = 5 pts.
Parties are hard with only one controllable sim!
But Johanna and her grandpa really bonded over the dancing.
And finally:
Cipher Gray kept insulting people. Can't even blame him, since I could give him a home with just one click, yet insist on playing his household as homeless ;-)
Anyway, though this man is a prime candidate for the anti-Humbug group, I guess the true leader(s) are less overt in the expression of their disgust.
Overall score is 61/90 now.

:-) that exactly what I did. Kana's ghost told her she couldn't move on because of the unfinished business of the festival

But no pressure, huh? Poor Noel! On the upside, afterwards she will have some enchanting novel to write
I love your tales, too! Are you only doing sims fiction or do you have other stories up somewhere?

Week three
Boy its a good thing we only needed 8 pts this week. My social networking was a bust with only 14 followers and half way through the week my game went wonky. My parties stopped displaying the things I needed to do to earn my medals. So the last few parties I threw I earned nothing. Does anyone know why that would happen?
Score: Violin Skill 5
Piano Skill 4
Silver Parties 2
Total Score 11

I can see me playing a nice little prison challenge in this save
Just some random pics from day 1 (The Goodbye party for Aerith and Julie. the performers)
My house has doubled in size.
I'm not that good at decorating...
...but Aerith seems to like it.
Johnny's shirt says "Dear Santa, I can explain"

Well, at least in the Sims you can: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=543073
And I really should have gone to bed after posting my day one pics instead of loading my game again. Because the game decided to. well, expand a little on the AHG's backstory. I swear it knows when it's the least appropriate moment for such things...
Me. "So, Lady Landgraab, let's talk about your involvement with the Anti-Humbug-Group..."
Nancy: "Your vivid imagination suits a writer well, Enki, but I'm not..."
Me: "Hold that thought! There was some noise in the backyard. I'll be back in a moment to fully apprecciate your cover story,
before I dismantle it piece by piece."
Uh-oh, that isn't the neighbors' holiday decoration!
Okay, okay, I believe the AHG now, when they say they can give me trouble! I really do!!!
If this is the last thing I'm going to see in my life it was worth it!
Not pictured is how Nancy played the piano all the while. I was busy trying not to laugh too loudly at so late a time.
I swear, if I'm pregnant, the Landgraab will have to adopt the kid!!!
The next day:
Nancy: "Oh, Enki, and still among the living? You find me surprised and impressed. Our allys must see something in you that I failed to notice."
Me: "Are the other group members aware whom they actually serve?"
Nancy: "Of course not! And good luck trying to persuade them. And you know what? I mean that!
I wanted to get out of that alliance for some time now, but never found the courage.
But you've proven patient and ressourceful over the last 3 weeks.
You might just pull it off and save this town."

Challenge score round 3: 30/40
Overall: 74/130
Accomplishments
Friends (not counting AHG members): 9 = 9 pts.
Good friends: 1 (Julie the performer) = 2 pts. for a total of 11/12
Good/cheerful aquaintances (includes some friends): 7 = 10/10 pts.
AHG-members identified: 6
AHG-member(s) befriended: 3 = 9/18 pts.
Story
Call me Spacedad. I'm tired and I feel empty. This wasn't how I had planned to spend the end of the season at all. With my new responsibilities I feel farther away from my goal of becoming a succesful writer than ever before. The great symbol of hope (as my parents call it), a baby, has, for me, been the last straw. I go through the motions, surprisingly functional, but in the rare cases that I feel anything at all, it is a deep sadness.
All I know is that neither the Social Services nor her abusive otherworldly kin shall lay hands on Gabriela. It's not that I would not care for her, Of course I want my girl safe and happy. But I do not find fulfillment or even peace in parenthood.
I saved the festival.
Subdued the AHG (for now).
Shelter new life in my home.
And I wonder - isn't there anything for me in all this?
Though the story ends on a terribly sad note, have some alien baby cuteness here (click the pics for captions)

but for some reason only one of the ten shows up when the blog page is accessed without being logged in.)
