I've always wanted to use a boat in The Sims 4. 😍
AND it's Base Game compatible! You're awesome.

I really like it! I was in a small building slump, everything I tried to build ended up somehow similar to all my previous houses. But this little thing was exactly what I needed!

I have one little problem, though. The boat shows on the stairs like a carpet would Is it supposed to be like that?

Hi,
I wish I could give you an answer as to what is causing the color change seen in your image. This is the first time I have seen this effect.
Try using the Base Game version of the houseboat shell. It does not include the lower section of the boat under the area where your staircase is positioned.

I hope this helps.

I’m having trouble building my houseboat. It Step 2: Placing the shell, the shell is showing up red, telling me that it intersects with the terrain. I copied the layout exactly, so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Feel free to PM me with any lot requests. I've mostly done house trailers in the past.

Hi,

Yep, as szanne7000 said, you should check that bb.moveobjects is on and don't forget to also make sure you're at the ground floor.

That’s what the problem was. I guess I missed that it needed to be on.

Thanks for a nice mod, if you separate the roof ornament from the boat shell you could allow for boats to have different cabin heights i.e. have a foundation to make stairs to a slightly lower fishing area (at the moment doing it leaves the ornaments inside the cabin).

Build my own boat? A house... boat? Are you insane?

For one, why would we do manual labour? This is a job for the help. Gawd invented servants for a good reason.

Secondly, the proper name is, luxury yacht. This house... boat you speak of sounds like a place suitable for the help. Shack. Hovel. House... boat. It's all the same to a pleb.

We thank you for your creation and look forward to seeing the help actually live in one. =P

Default Love it, tiny quibble.
In the description and other doc you call them "shells." The correct term is "hulls."

There are boats properly called shells.... they are long and low and skinny and used for rowing races on rivers and such, eg in the Olympics. You can't live in one. Well I suppose you could but it would be really wet....
