They both gasp in horror as they realized what once use to be their home was now an enormous pile of dirt. “Where is it?!” she cried. “Where’s our house?”

Justin shrugged while trying to keep back the tears. This was his home. His childhood memories. Gone. Everything was gone.

“There was a fire here almost a year ago,” said a voice that came from behind her. Audrina turned around and smiled.

“Gina!” Audrina gasped.

Audrina ran to her long lost best friend. They embraced each other while screaming with excitement. “Where…in the hell…have you been?!” asked Gina.

“Oh my gosh. Everywhere! They split me and my brothers up into group homes. Justin eventually was adopted, Dean is missing and I had to spend a year in one, then I escaped after they were going to ship me to another one, then this guy found me sleeping in a alley so he took me in and I’ve been living with him ever since. Oh yeah, by the way, we’re engaged and you’re invited to the wedding! Nothing big; just a small ceremony. And who are these people?” Gina stared at Audrina for a moment, shocked at the amount of time it took her to explain everything. “Sounds like a true romance novel!” she exclaimed. Audrina laughed.

“Well,” began Gina, giggling. “This is my husband, Darren!”

“Hello,” said Darren, extending his hand out to Audrina. She shook it and greeted him with a ‘hello’ as well.

“And who’s this little guy?” Audrina asked, bending down to the toddler’s level.

“This is our son, Rome!” she beamed.

Audrina gasped and greeted the toddler. Rome smiled and hid his face into Gina’s shirt. “He’s adorable!” she exclaimed. “Look, we have to go. We’re trying to find Dean. You guys haven’t seen him around, have you?” she asked.

Gina glanced over at Darren and shrugged. “No, we haven’t. You haven’t seen him since that day?”

“No. But hey, let me give you my number and we’ll meet up soon, ok?” Audrina jotted her number down on a torn piece of paper that was given to her by Justin. They exchanged hugs and Gina agreed to call her tomorrow.
