They arrived at Greg’s house about fifteen minutes later. The sun had gone away and it was getting dark and cloudier. Audrina and Justin stood next to the car, both staring at the attractive one-story house. “Ready?” Audrina asked her brother. Justin started to open his mouth, when Audrina cut him off. “I know, I know. Ready as you’ll ever be. Come on.”

“How’d you know I was going to say that?” he asked, following Audrina to the front door.

“Just shut up and let me do the talking,” she replied and rang the doorbell.

They waited five seconds before a semi-bald man answered the door. He stared at Audrina with wide-eyes. “Audrey. You’re here,” he said, in shock. He glanced over at Justin. “Justin. How are you?” he asked. “Come in. Please.”

Justin frowned at Audrina as Greg entered the house.

“So tell me, how have you two been?” asked Greg, once they all sat down in the living room.

“I need to know something,” said Audrina, ignoring Greg’s question. “What involvement do you have in the murder of our mother?” Justin could feel his heart jump to his throat. He had no idea she was just going to jump to the point like that.

Greg stiffened. “I…I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he responded, tensely.

Audrina stared coldly at him without saying a word. She could tell Greg was falling under pressure and was deciding in his mind whether he should come clean or not. “Ok, Audrey,” he whispered with his head hanging low. “I helped. I helped him do it.” A thump formed in Audrina’s throat and prevented her from asking why. “I had to. He made me. I didn’t want to! She wouldn’t leave him!” he cried.

“What do you mean she wouldn’t leave him?” she asked.

“She wouldn’t,” he repeated. “We were in love; the both of us. She was pregnant and—“

“She was pregnant?!” Audrina screamed. “You got her pregnant?”

Greg nodded. “I wanted her to come live with us. So she could see her mother more often.”

“Wait, wait! What do you mean she? Who’s she?”

Greg looked up at Audrina and Justin. Then he called her name. Seconds later, a little girl entered the room.
